I picked this one out of many options because I loved the way that it was presented. I loved the wood, the colors, the flashcards. Each one had differences but this one just looked extra special. I want to slowly get my son familiar with the words so I love that at first he can see the letters and then later you can use the second set of cards and tear off the words. Perfect! So far he has had fun with it though it doesn't hold his interest for long because he is in a car stage. Even just a few minutes a day is fine with me to start with. And it is made so well. I love the wooden look and how they are based around the differently colored vowels. It is such a great price. And really, if it helps him learn to read, it is invaluable.

This is a well-constructed teaching tool for youngsters, and I'm impressed with the overall design and quality of the product. However, the word choices on the cards and some of the visuals are a little odd. I know there are limitations on 3-letter word possibilities, but very young learners need simple words and visuals to grasp the concepts of word building and spelling. Some of the words with the visuals are: WORD VISUAL cat cat pig pig hat hat ban "the NO sign" hag witch cog gears pet dogSo, cat, hat, pig, ham, and others are great. But not to have "dog" (an easy 3-letter word) with the picture of the dog is beyond me. Most of the cards are good, just some seemed like odd choices, in my opinion.I do like the set and will probably make my own cards on my printer using cardstock.

A fun little activity to help your child learn and sound out 3 letter words. Easy to use and a great size for little hands. Keeps my sun busy for a while and it so cute!

The stand is worthless. The card does not stay in place, the cards are a bit thin, and the stand falls over every time. Besides those things my child enjoys this activity. We just put the cards and letters on the table or floor. However, I would buy again if there was a cheaper option without the stand.

my grandson was having trouble reading, he is in first grade, while using these he gained confidence and that is all he needed to excel.

I though this product would be cheaply made, but I was surprised by how sturdy it is and how well it has held up to my daughter. She really enjoys playing with it as part of her reading lessons. I divided the cards up so that all the words with a are in one pile, o in another, etc, so it makes it easier to uses the letter spinners instead of having to keep switching them in and out for each card.

This is a lovely little set for children learning CVC words. Some of the cards might be difficult as they are words that may not be used commonly. For example, RUG is a picture of a blanket and not a floor covering. But it is a good quality set. Highly recommended.

I bought this for my 5 year old who just started school (QLD). It’s a wonderful tool for sounding out words and learning to read. It’s exactly what they do in prep.

This educational game is good quality and easy for young users. It fosters independent learning. It was given as a gift and both the child and parent appreciated it.
