I'm not sure if this item is defective or not; I don't get any "low coolant" light when I start up my vehicle, all the other warning lights illuminate except the low coolant one. Bottom line is the coolant is not low so I really don't know if it works or not . could be my circuit for low coolant light is kaput. I give it 4 stars; if I ever see the coolant light illuminate while starting of engine I will revise to 5 star. I sure wasn't going to pay $80.00 for a delco- since all these devices are made in China anyway. It keeps the coolant in; i'm good with that.
