This holder is so helpful. I work on my laptop all day and was tired of looking down to see info on paperwork. I already have neck problems and looking up and down all day was giving me headaches. I wanted to use my eyes, not my neck to work.I work for a production company that’s making a TV show. Sometimes I’m in the office, sometimes I’mat Base Camp, sometimes I’m on set. My laptop is my livelihood. I didn’t want the side stands that sit on your desk. I’m not always at a desk and I’d still be using my neck to look over. I didn’t want a holder that clipped to my screen bc I was worried it would mess it up now that laptops are edge to edge screens. The main reasons are: I like to keep my papers separated by alternating them landscape and portrait to easily see the different things I’m working on. Sideways papers would block the side of my screen with a clipped style holder. The clip arms get weak over time and sag when more than a few pages are added.I didn’t want anything that adheres to my laptop bc sometimes I have to put my laptop in my backpack to travel from place to place during the day. I don’t want anything fixed in place to get caught on my backpack when pulling it out or prevent my backpack from closing from the added length of the holder that’s glued on.This holder holds a lot of paper regardless if it’s printed/turned portrait or landscape. It has a lip that your papers sit in, but the back is thin enough that you can use a small office clip to keep your papers in place if you have to put the holder in a bag or drawer. Papers stay safe and flat for storage. Can’t do that with screen clips. This is a great alternative to the clips and adhesive holders. I don’t use the camera on my computer, but if I did, this holder doesn’t block it. It’s lightweight, lays flat in my backpack… I use it everyday. I love it and it works so well for what I do.Now for students or people who have to see over their laptops, it’s tall so it might not be a good option for you.

It broke with even a gentle handling. Cheap particle material.
