Needed to check saline in the shrimp tank. Easy to use and clean, have to set upside down on a flat surface to dry.... served purpose.

I have been using the digital meter for the longest time. The coral were thieving. One day, out of the blue, I wanted something to test against the this reader since this reader has no calibration and has been a couple months of using it. The result of this hygrometer was so high, it freaks me out and I started to dilute the water based on this reading. Next day, a couple of my corals died. i went to the aquarium store and ask them to give me some of their water that they tested using the Hanna tester. The water sample is at 1.026g from the Hanna checker. This Hydrometer reads 1.032. My digital meter is a bit off, but not off as much as this stupid thing. 1.026 is about 35ppt, so my is off by about 1ppt, which is like .001g.I have shake the bubbles off, measure at room temperature, measure a few times, all came out with the same result, 1.032g.In summary, I don't know if I gotten a defective one or something else. Made me very mad and sad for trusting this unit and not trust on my own instinct that the Corals are doing fine and I should leave them alone. Hope the rest of the corals survive this and take it as a lesson learn for using cheap instrument.

It’s easy to use and read. Unfortunately it started leaking during the fourth use. When not in use, it was just sitting on the counter drying so I don’t think it was damaged. But there are five other people in our house. Maybe someone bumped it and caused damage.

These are pretty accurate if you need to take a quick ballpark measurement and don't have the time to work a more precise device.You ABSOLUTELY need to "season the needle" by soaking it in 35ppt salinity water. Before I seasoned it, the needle showed 1ppt higher reading, which is probably why some people think it's inaccurate.The scale marking are excellent, actually and they even put in a bubble remover on the intake.

Got this thinks it would be perfect for my brackish tank and they didn't even send the one in the photo and the one they sent dosnt even read well would not recommend

No viene bien calibrado, no es confiable la lectura de la salinidad, 1023 reales me da 1032 en el densimetro
