I just tested this knockoff Dewalt tool with one of my knockoff Dewalt batteries and I'm impressed. It feels well-built and balances well in the hand with a 5ah battery. I love the variable speed, which is something you just don't get on corded angle grinders without spending a mint. I think that's going to be VERY useful with flap discs when you're trying to get a nicer finish. The trigger switch feels very well made and is often what feels cheap on a tool like this. The locking button on the side is in a good location and easily manipulated.I tried to stall it out, but had difficulty doing so, even on the lowest speed. The one not-great feature is that the variable speed button down by the battery isn't terribly easy to operate and feels a little cheap. If this is your first grinder and you plan to use it at all, get yourself a dust mask, or, even better, a respirator. You don't want the dust and pieces of your grinding wheel in your lungs.

I’m giving this 4 stars cuz it’s very efficient and works well, plus using any of my 5 Milwaukee batteries is great, but I don’t like that there is no lock button or anything that keep it from moving when you accidentally pull the trigger. Also drains your battery VERY quick.

I have a hobby metal shop and use grinders a lot. I have 3 Milwaukee M18 grinders, a 24V Flex grinder, and several corded grinders. I never use the corded anymore because battery powered is so much more convenient.I got the Dewalt version of this because I have a couple Dewalt batteries lying around and it is super-inexpensive for a cordless grinder. It fits OEM batteries just fine. The tool is comfortable in the hand and light. It makes nowhere near the power of my other cordless grinders and my 2aH batteries don't last very long (like 5-10 minutes of intermittent use). However, I find myself reaching for this one because it is so light when I'm grinding mill scale before welding. Overall a good pick-up, especially if you're in the battery line.

I have a large selection of Dewalt 20v tools and batteries. I also have a Dewalt 20v grinder. This is very similar in size and weight to the actual Dewalt unit. This has a metal head where my dewalt appears to be over molded plastic. At the time of review it was 35.00. I used with a 9AH battery with the included grinding wheel on plate steel. It did not lose RPM or trip the breaker when using like I would with the name brand unit. For the price this is a fantastic unit if you are already in the Dewalt ecosystem. Now I can have one cordless setup for aluminum and one setup for steel without worrying about cross contamination as the flap disks will be single media now.

This is a 3-speed 4.5" angle grinder that is compatible with the Dewalt 20V series of batteries. It comes with a type 27 blade/wheel guard, blade/wheel wrench, repositionable handle, and grinding wheel. The grinder has 3 speeds that are selected via a pushbutton near the battery. The grinder is powered using a momentary trigger bar. The trigger has a lock button that allows you to trigger it on and lock it in the on position (released by another pull of the trigger). The type 27 blade guard is secured with a screw vs a more convenient thumb lock. It's work-able but if your work requires frequent adjustments to the blade guard then this will become an annoyance. Also I found that the blade guards for my other PC corded angle grinder were not compatible with this unit. So if you hope to exchange blade guards with others you might already own (e.g. for type 1 flat wheels) then you might not be in luck.I was able to test battery compatibility with both OEM and generic Dewalt 20V compatible batteries and I experienced no issues. This tool will come in handy for jobs where a corded grinded would be a hassle such as grinding roof tiles for a rooftop solar system installation.
