I already own an M18 flashlight, impact driver, and drill, as well as a number of M18 batteries, so ordering this was a no brainer. There are many things about this tools that I liked:- The free hand grip can be mounted either on the left or the right to accommodate both lefties and righties- My variety of M18 batteries fit perfectly- It has a very solid feel- Different speed settings- lights that show battery chargeI took off a start because the instruction sheet that came with it isn't very helpful. Yes, you get your basic safety info but there is nothing that talks about putting it together or even any mention that you can adjust speeds or how to do it. I still haven't figured out how to get to 3 speeds, only 2. Also the instruction sheet will be easily lost if not filed somewhere - a better solution would be to put a QR code on the device that points to instructions.I would also have preferred if there were a spot on the tool where you can store the wrench that you need to swap out grinding wheels - it has two pegs to hold the wheel in place, making it a unique tool. This too may be lost easily if not put in a reliable place.

I don't want to pre-judge this without knowing about the long term durability but for the price it is a good basic grinder for home owner/occasional use. It weighs in at 2 lb 14 oz without a battery and with a Milwaukee XC6.0 is 4 lbs 12 oz and certainly suitable for light duty work. With the Milwaukee battery installed It is balanced right at the trigger. This isn't as powerful as grinders that cost 2 to 3 times the price but if you happen to use Milwaukee tools and have the battery and you're looking to complete an occasional job or need the freedom from the chord this would be a value choice. The trigger is not as comfortable for long term use as the paddles on other brands but has a lock-on switch. The guard is light weight but offers enough protection. The grinder shaft lock button is convenient to use located on top of the grinder housing. I usually buy higher priced tools because I look for durability and long term service and have a nice Makita chorded grinder but needed a battery powered for a project up on the roof and this was a perfect fit.

This grinder came with 2 pages of generic safety information and nothing about the grinder set up and use. It came with one wheel but no information about the specific purpose of that wheel. It didn't do much on cement but did OK with cutting rebar. There is a button on top that causes the wheel to fly off if pushed while running. When reading the advertisement on Amazon, it appears to have something to do with tightening the wheel. The spanner wrench that came with it has no place to attach to the tool so it will be a challenge not to misplace it. The safety info sheet mentions cleaning air vents, which the Milwaukee version has, but this one does not. I have no idea how that will affect performance and longevity. Nowhere in the advertisement does it mention wheel size or hole size in case you want to order a different wheel at the same time.....it is 4 1/2' with 5/8' hole. Studying the advertisement also indicates 3 speeds which explains the tiny button on the base....I couldn't tell that it did much. I doubt a professional would be pleased with this tool, but for the occasional home owner project it should be fine.

Grinder looks and feels cheap. The metal housing is poorly stamped and the plastic body feels low quality. But the Milwaukee battery does snap right in and the grinder does work. I have used other name brand battery operated grinders and I typically feel my hand twist from torque when I start them up but this one does not do that hardly at all. It feels weaker than my other grinders. I am not really sure how to describe this but the motor gearing/mechanism sounds "clanky" or maybe the best way to put it is cheap?The metal guard is much thinner than other grinders I have used but seems to be sturdy enough to protect you. The grip is a thin plastic handle, again sturdy enough to be used but probably will not handle a fall or heavy use.The grinder does come with a grinding wheel but it looks pretty cheap as well. I didn't feel safe using it but I had others on hand.
