The concept of this vacuum is great and I was very excited to get this. Opening the box everything was well packed and it snaps together easily. It feels sturdy enough for a pool product; lightweight to be easily maneuverable in the pool, but substantial enough to feel sturdy. The poll extends easily in 2 spots and makes it long enough to reach to the middle of my 12' wide pool. The vacuum sucks water up from the bottom into the filter, then out ports near the top of the body. Picking it up out of the pool takes a little effort as the entire clear canister stays full of water. Not too heavy, but not as light as the unit was when it went into the water. The basket does filter out medium sized debris. If you look closely at my third picture, I have a combination of sand/pollen from my oaks that accumulated on the bottom. The vacuum picked it up easily, but the filter just pushed it right thru out the discharge ports. So all it did was pick up the dirt and cloud the pool water. Some good news, the pool filter will then clean it out, but I have a cloudy pool in the meantime. Medium sized leaves and debris were sucked in and picked up in the basket. Larger leaves around the size of your hand could not be sucked into the unit, but I could pick the up to the top of the water and pull them off the unit. Opening the unit to clean is very easy, the large lever on the front separates the unit for cleaning. Battery time was great, I've cleaned the pool a few times and it hasn't needed a charge yet. My only complaint so far is that it doesn't filter out the sand and dirt at the bottom of the pool - it just picks it off the floor and blows it out into the water. If this could be fixed this unit would be great. But, it is useful for leaves to get them off the bottom of the pool. So not 5 stars, but good enough for 3.##UPDATE##The seller contacted me via Amazon and sent me a new filter basket. They were very quick to help and shipping the new part to me was handled quickly. I can't say it changed too much overall. But, I do think my expectations were too high. I expected this to work like my pool vacuum but that just not what this can do. It's meant to pick up debris off the bottom and not pollen or fine dirt. So, with my new expectations, this does do it's job and it's easy to use.

I didn't read the description very well and ended up not being able to use for our pool. However, a good friend was moving into a new place and I offered to help clean up and get her home ready for her and her family. Lucky her, they found a house to rent with a pool! Figured this was a great opportunity to test out the pool vacuum. It worked so well and so fast. She has regular pool maintenance but this was good to get the leaves and other things that fell into the water. After cleaning, we all took a dip in the clean pool to cool off and it was really nice.

The telescopic rod isn’t tight and can’t stay fixed—it loosens easily. With the resistance in the pool, it keeps coming loose, which is super frustrating. Also, the rubber around the power connection isn’t fully sealed, and it’s loose too. Since the pool is saltwater, I’m worried it’ll get damaged over time.

I had no idea a small, hand-held vacuum even existed until I saw the PoolMr Cordless Handheld Pool Vacuum. SO glad I found it! I have a Polaris cleaner for my pool which does a great job, but when my hot tub is cluttered with leaves (thanks neighbor) it's always a pain to drag the Polaris out of the pool and put it in the hot tub for a quick clean.The vacuum is made very well and comes with several accessories to make your cleaning project easy. The fact that it's rechargeable is such a bonus in my opinion. Easy to charge (just make sure you seal the port before using).The pole is telescopic giving you an extension of 2.9 ft and all the way to 5.8 ft.; this is perfect for my hot tub. All of the accessories effortlessly lock into the vacuum and stay in securely the whole time.The rectangular brush head is nice and moves smoothly on the floor of my hot tub and also is flexible in it's left and right movements; however, I find that using the vacuum without the rectangular brush head is the best option for getting leaves (at least for me). I did use the brush head for my landing in the pool and that worked out nicely.I wasn't expecting much as far as its suction, but was pleasantly surprised at how much it picked up during a quick run through of my hot tub. It got all of the leaves and small twigs, so that is a win in my book.Emptying the vacuum couldn't be easier: unlock, take the filter compartment out, open the lid, dump your contents. You can also take the filter completely out of the unit and spray wash as well. Putting it back in is just as easy.From here on out, I'll be grabbing my PoolMr Cordless Handheld Pool Vacuum instead of the Polaris to clean my hot tub because it's SO easy.This is the perfect addition to my hot tub and I highly recommend it.

We have a 25,000-gallon saltwater gunite pool. I got this to use on the pool steps. Our robot vacuum keeps the bottom of the pool clean, but it doesn't do the steps. This vacuum has adequate suction to clean the steps and also to pick up leaves and debris when I don't want to drag the robot out. The pole depth works fine for me since our pool is only 6.5' at the deepest level. I would recommend this vacuum. I've never tried cleaning the entire pool with this, and I'm not sure how it would perform running it for extended periods of time as far as battery life goes. It is easy to assemble, use and clean.

I got this vacuum for my dad so that he doesn’t have to pull out the poles and hoses to clean the pool. I figured that this vacuum would be less of a hassle for him, and it is. Cleans the pool just as well as our previous method, and is easier to take out, use, and put away.
