This buffer works surprisingly well for the price. I would recommend using new buffing pads from a trusted brand -- that's the part that touches your paint and I'd rather not cheap out there. But for the buffer itself, this works just fine. Good battery life.

I dread the task of polishing our vehicles. Anything to make it a bit easier and quicker is welcomed by me. I've owned corded polishers, but they were either too large and aggressive or basically useless. I really wasn't expecting too much from this cordless polisher, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked. Its random orbit is just large enough to apply the polish smoothly and quickly. Applying Nu Finish polish to my F150 hood took maybe 3-4 minutes. The polisher allowed me to thin the heavy areas quickly, so I ended up with a thin and fairly even coat that was easily removed with a microfiber cloth. Battery life was much better than I expected. My wife was able to polish her entire Outback (except the roof) without swapping batteries! We found the lowest speed was best for applying polish. There was no "splatter" with the low setting. I'm sure if you were bearing down and trying to remove paint defects, battery life would suffer. Realistically, you should have a different (and more aggressive) tool for removing scratches or paint defects prior to polishing. Here are the "negatives": The included battery charger is painfully slow. If you have a large job that requires more than one battery swap, it's unlikely that your charging battery will be ready when you need it. The on/off switch and speed control are one switch. It would be much better / friendlier to have a separate speed control switch or knob. The included pads aren't high quality (as expected). All in all, for the price, this is a very useful tool that makes my annual job a bit less daunting. 5 stars for a good balance of quality and price.

I was a little skeptical of this buffer at first because of the 12 Volt power. I've become accustomed to 18 volt batteries on all my other cordless tools so I thought it might not have the power or endurance I've come to expect. Well, I've only used it once so far but I can say that was not the case at all. The battery outlasted my expectations and since they provide two batteries, you should have no issue finishing the job you're taking on. I also like that it comes with two different battery chargers so if you run them both down, you can recharge both simultaneously.It is lightweight and very easy to maneuver around the vehicle and the variable speed control works well. The pads that are supplied are not the best quality so I'd suggest investing in some better pads if you're an enthusiast like me. Get yourself some microfiber and pad shampoo and wash these out good after use.I was also pleased to see that the backing pad plate is a standard thread size so I can remove the one it comes with (with the provided wrench) and swap it out for my small 3" plate to do trim work and headlights etc...You really get your money's worth in this package and everything fits nicely in the carry bag. Very happy with this polisher so far.
