I bought this solely for cutting a piece of thick artificial turf (which is very difficult to cut even with shears)..,this thing solved the problem…you have to pause every few feet to let the cut “grass’ fall away but it’s cuts nicely in a straight line

My wife got a similar cutter but much smaller. This one feel much better for me to hold. I used it to cut some canvas, and it cut through really well. I will try it on some harder materials later hopefully it works just as well.

The product destroyed two batteries before realized it was the product. It shorted out two batteries and made them have no charge and not be rechargeable. I am returning the tool and would like to get my batteries replaced.

While you can normally leave your dewalt batteries on your actual dewalt tools - DO NOT leave your dewalt batteries on this device or it will drain them to the point where it no longer functions nor recharges - a serious flaw in the design. Oh, it does cut effectively - just don’t leave the battery on it!

This thing fits well with my dewalt 20v battery. I did cut some sponge and the cut is smooth and clean.

The unit arrived with the scissor head not working, so I took the unit apart and reseated the motor to head component. It works now but I don't know if the head is truly working as it should because most of the blade doesn't move (just the deepest section by the head), so you can't cut close to dead end edges like box corners. I really wanted to like this and was expecting a much better tool but was disappointed in its functioning. I have tested it cutting paper and cardboard with okay results but not sure how long it will last given it doesn't appear to be fully functional.
