I purchased the 3mm in the shown color to make my own custom lanyards. I found it to be cost effective as well as the ability to cut to size contingent on the person as well as wrist vs neck lanyard .With a Few other charms & such along with some creativity. I can custom make them accordingly. The 3mn thickness is perfect, it's strong, durable, attractive & water proof. The functionality is only limited by your imagination.I notice no smell, not cracking nor deterioration. I definitely recommend a "break away" clasp as a safety precaution. I try to" theme " them with a shark tooth or a hobby charm to personalize for each person.5 â'z5 â'z and a lot of compliments.

They're perfect for making an adjustable thread to put around your neck when making a necklace.The only drawback is that if you take your shower with it (as in wearing it as a necklace), the thread will weaken and it'll eventually break.It's a solid buy, bought it multiple times. Haven't found a better price of quality yet.
