It's that time of the year when the Margarita glasses come out of the cabinet. My glasses are especially wide and I have wasted money on those ready-to-use plastic salt containers that purport to be your "one and done" solution for salting your glass rim. Of course, my glasses do not fit in those things- and I ended up using a small plate anyway. Besides for that, the plastic salters and the dish were makeshift and not a very attractive look when guests come over.I remember a time before foreign made products became ubiquitous, that well-made and functional items could easily be found on American store shelves. I do not know where Cork & Mill products are manufactured, but this salt rimmer is a quality wood piece with the logo etched on the bottom along with cleaning instructions. No splinters or rough wood areas and certainly big enough to accommodate any glass while taking the smaller ones too because of the small circumference of the middle circle. In the hand, it speaks to the buyer that someone cared about the making of this product.I received a very nice postcard from the owners of Cork & Mill, Rachel and Michael- after my purchase. I write many reviews on Amazon, but this review has been a pleasure to write because it is wonderful to see a young American couple exhibit such an artisanal desire to once again create a beautiful and functional product , and follow up on it by mail with a thank you note. Believe it or not, I spent quite a while looking for a salt rimmer on Amazon... only to find plastic that looked like stainless... plain stainless... junky disposable items, etc. There is nothing like the beautiful warmth of genuine wood on the countertop. I am leaving it out with my Godinger crystal wine caddy. Thank you for a beautiful product.

Exactly what I was looking for! I have a set of wide-rim margarita glasses and they fit perfectly in this. I was using a saucer and it wasn't doing a very good job. This has a deep-set moat which is nice as I'm often making drinks for two and don't want to fill it up. Instead place as little as a tablespoon of coarse salt or sugar in the rimmer, tilt it so it gathers in one spot and twirl your glass until evenly covered - voila! Restaurant sugar packets are perfect for doing sugar rims. See YouTube for making colored sugar in just 5 minutes. It's super easy and makes your drinks look so special. I store different colors in spice jars in my bar. I also use raw sugar. This rimmer works beautifully with salt and sugar of all textures. For best results cut a small slice in a lime or lemon, fit this over the rim and twirl the glass until evenly moist before twirling in salt or sugar. I would avoid a sponge-type of application as it's just not necessary and who doesn't want a hint of citrus!I definitely didn't want a cheap, ugly plastic rimmer. This item is a beautifuly finished acacia wood. Perfectly smooth, rich color with the logo stamped into the wood. It's well-made and something that would add beauty and function to a bar. Also best price around as of this writing. The packaging is very nice with drink recipes included. It would make a classy gift for that hard to shop for person! Two thumbs up!

Works perfectly and is beautiful on top of that. Highly recommended if you only need a single rimmer.

It is nice looking and will work well for rimming the glass, but I made the wrong assumption that this would come with a lid as some other options I had viewed did. You cannot store the salt in this. Maybe I will find a plastic lid that sort of works. Disappointed but definitely my fault for not paying attention.

A nice item to have on your bar or as a gift to someone who loves margaritas.

This salt rimmer is actually a lot nicer than I expected. The wood is truly lovely and this seems like a very high quality product. I've only used it once so far, but It's easy to use and works perfectly with my large rimmed margarita glasses. Several people have commented on how lovely it looks, so I'm definitely ordering another as a gift. I think this would make a great hostess gift, and it comes packaged in a nice box.

Used to use a small saucer for Marguerite salt. Splurged on a "real" one and happy I did. Just cover the unused salt with apiece if foil and he store it on top of my Marguerite glasses. Cool product!

Should be sold in pairs as you put lemon juice in one and then salt in the other to rim your cocktail glass. Which would work out too expensive
