This is my second set of these exact loppers. The first pair lasted 11 years before they broke because of my abuse-I cut and twisted them trying to cut too large of a branch. I replaced them with the exact same model because they work very well. They are sharp/keep sharp, easy to leverage/use, long enough for reach and importantly light weight. I have another very well made, sturdy loppers of another brand that are heavy to use. I don't like to use them much because they are just too heavy to use overhead all the time. If you are up on a ladder trimming a tree, you don't want/need a heavy pair of loppers to add to your work. For me these Corona loppers are the perfect combination of size and weight. If I need to cut anything larger than these will cut, I use a pole saw or hand saw.

OUTSTANDING by-pass-type lopper. Having SOLID handles instead of the sliding “adjustable length†handles makes for a very firm and confident feel. Blades slide smoothly - - with STRONG effort and 3 or 4 squeezes, it cut nicely through true 2-inch branches. Longer-than-most handles makes up for some of the fact that the blades are not articulated for leverage. [However, such longer handles are a disadvantage when cutting WITHIN dense branches or heavy overgrowth, because all those leaves and branches get in the way of fully opening the handles.] A REALLY GOOD BUILD.

I have used Corona loppers for years with excellent results. The cutting blades on this unit were bigger than my previous loppers. The handles were longer, too, which allowed for a lot of cutting force on the shrubs that I took down. Despite its size, the loppers are not heavy because of the tubular handles. I am satisfied with this purchase. The main thing that I will be on the lookout for is the longevity of the "bumpers". Typically that is the part that will give out first. For those of you who are wondering, the loppers were assembled in Mexico, with parts made in the USA, Taiwan, and Vietnam. So even though Corona is a US company, the loppers are 'Global'.

These loppers are surprisingly lightweight, and as easy to use as any with 32" handles could be, i.e. a little awkward. They appear to be well made and sturdy, but I haven't yet used them long enough to know how durable they will turn out to be. I think they will be, if they're used for their intended purpose. They're orchard loppers, not heavy-duty ones. They're designed to cut live branches up to perhaps 1/2" in diameter. And I wouldn't advise using them on hard, dead branches that large. I may be underestimating them, but when I use them to cut something that's too large or too hard, the handles flex in a way that's worrisome. If heavy-duty loppers are too heavy for you, trying using a small saw instead. I find a Bear Saw with a large-toothed blade very satisfactory for this purpose, and easier to use than a pruning saw. One last point that may be obvious--loppers with 32" handles are *not* very useful for cutting branches up close. I quickly learned to also carry a pair of short-handled shears with me when working with them!

We have bought quite a lot of loppers over the last 30 years and I loved these from the first cut. Nice balance, cuts clean with ease, not cumbersomely heavy, couldn't be more impressed and great price.

These are very good quality loppers. My first with aluminum handles, the feedback they provide is very different from traditional wood handles. The Corona AL'S have a bit of flex, or springiness, when cutting larger or hardened stems.Compared with wood handles these are lighter. I have broken wood handles and these seem less likely to break (thanks to the flex feedback). Out of the box they are sharp enough, and there's plenty of clearance to get a stone or mill bastard on the blade.

Had to purchase a new set of clippers due to my old ones failing to fully cut small or soft branches no matter how much they were adjusted or sharpened. These Corona AL 8462 clippers are a tremendous improvement. I've used them to cut up branches trimmed from oak trees and have had no problem cutting thru thick (1.5") pieces. It also cuts the very small pieces clean through on every clip. Something my old clippers never did, even when new. I seen some reviews about the handles breaking, but I see no problem with them. They seem solid and have done fine cutting hard oak branches.

This product does everything it says it will. The weight of the loppers is nice and makes long use not as tedious

Firstly, I was initially reserved about the strength of the Alluminum arms on these Loppers. I would report, that their strength is of no concern, and they are more than up to the task. No flex, or bending at all, even when the unfortunate happened.Secondly, these are super light weight. When I picked up the shipping box, it felt almost empty. In the hand, the initial impression from the weight, is that they are going to struggle to cut anything. But in action, they are very very capable Loppers. The blade was very sharp; and the action and fitment against the anvil is very good. The blade only experienced some slight dulling, after a very solid afternoon of prunning. It still felt sharp, and was still cutting fine; and would easily return to original condition with a hone. The blade and anvil, did seem a bit thin initially. But, it was the lightness of the Loppers, along with the long length, that give this perception. They are more than up to the task (minus the tang that attaches to the arms). The pivot bolt kept everything very tight, no buckling or bending what so ever (even when the unfortunate happened). If the tang that inserts into the arms; was thicker (at least on the tension side), or oval shaped just like the arms, it would be less of a weak spot. But in saying that, looking at the surface where the tang broke; I wonder if I can see a bit of porosity in the metal, which might have made it weaker. When the Loppers let go, I was only commencing the cut, and hadn't even put full torque on it, so it was very surprising when it snapped. I was more shocked, to see that it hadn't snapped on the aluminium arms; especially since that's where I was expecting them to be the weakest. So, all up, I'd say these are great Loppers, but this pair was unlucky to have a flaw in the metal. A slight change in design, might reduce chances of porosity forming in the manufacturing process, or negate the impact if it does.
