I needed some masking tape for a room painting project and was looking at generic ones, but I realized for about the same price, I could get a nice set of primary colors for future craft projects, which I am always doing. I ended up only using part of one roll for my paint project. The tape held as well as I expected and was ample for the project. While I don't feel that this tape is any better or worse than any other brand of tape, I am happy I made this purchase so that I will have a selection of colors for creative uses.

Masking tape is supposed to be for masking off surfaces you don't want painted. But let's be honest, if you're anything like me you probably use it for everything BUT masking. Labels, holding things in place, taping small parts together, you name it.I bought a 10-roll sleeve of 3M blue painter's tape years ago. I finally ran out and wanted to replace it but didn't want to pay 3M prices for tape that I'd use for run-of-the-mill stuff. This 6-pack is a good compromise.Yes, it sticks to stuff. No, it doesn't leave residue. Yes, it's easy to peel off. I can't tell you if it leaves a clean paint line because I haven't used it for masking anything yet, though I might. So far it seems to work as well as the 3M tape I had. No idea if it will leave residue over time or how it will age, but so far I'm impressed. Here's a hint-- if you want your tape to mask cleanly and stay usable for a long time, keep it in a sealed Ziploc bag. Over time the edges of the tape will pick up lint, which keeps it from sticking right up to the edge and leads to paint bleeding under it. If you can keep the lint off, you'll get a cleaner mask line.Keeping the tape in a plastic bag also keeps the solvent in the adhesive from evaporating out as quickly. You can keep masking tape good for years if you do this (I've done it). Make sure the bag is air tight and out of direct sunlight or intense heat.If your tape does start to go bad (won't peel off the roll cleanly or the adhesive starts to harden), microwave it for 10-20 seconds. This will frequently soften the adhesive enough that you can use it, at least for a while. If you have to microwave the tape it's usually living on borrowed time, but you may get a few more uses out of it.I'm always leery about buying a generic alternative to a good product. It's a shot in the dark whether it will work as well (or at all). So far this tape seems to be about as good as the name-brand alternative for a reduced price.

I mostly used this tape to label items in my classroom as I was shutting it down for the summer. I'll up date in a couple of months to let you know how it held up.

Applied it to clean dry surface around all my windows and and the next morning it was all laying on the floor. It all came off by itself. It does not adhere well at all.. I want my money back.,.

I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the negative comments, but decided to give these a try anyway. I use these mainly for watercolour paintings. They work really well, and if you take your time peeling the tapes off, the paper doesn't rip. The only things negative about these tapes are 1) you really need the strength of Hercules to separate the rolls because they are very very tightly packed together; 2) they have a strong, unpleasant odor. Other than that, these are pretty good tapes with strong adhesive.

Unfortunately the tape doesn’t unroll from itself without tearing. I am very disappointed with it.
