The Crack'em Story
How it all began...
In late 2013 Dave Tennant, a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran was cooking eggs for his wife who was pregnant with their first child. He cracked the eggs on the side of the pan, which was his typical egg-cracking method, and made a huge mess! Half of the egg fell into the pan and the other half ran outside the pan and onto the stove. Frustrated, Dave thought "there has to be a better way!"
So from that day he started brainstorming different ideas. One afternoon he looked at the spoon rest on the counter top next to the stove and the idea hit him like a ton of bricks - convert the spoon rest into a dual-function egg cracker! This will crack eggs, contain messes, but most importantly - IT WILL PREVENT HIM FROM CLEANING!
Additionally, he could just replace his current spoon rest with the Crack'em to get the dual-functioning product and prevent him from adding another device to the counter top! BOOM - the Crack'em was born!
Designing the Crack'em (4 critical design criteria)
Dave identified four main criteria for designing the Crack'em.
1. Ergonomically Simple - It must make cracking eggs easier, not harder.
2. Aesthetically Designed - It must be something people would like to display in their kitchen.
3. Functionality - It must provide perfect functionality every time it was used.
4. Durability - It must be a single and solid piece so that cleaning would be a breeze.

This amazing! Such a small gadget, but makes me eggstatic! It works wonders and as described. It cracks smoothly, dishwasher safe, and upholds well. I like that I can use it as a spoon rest to have one less dish to wash. I would get so frustrated in the morning when making eggs because I would make a mess or get shells after cracking. This makes my mornings easier, cleaner, and starts my day off right! :) I would highly recommend. I bought for a friend who loves it just as much!

I used this yesterday for the first time, and it worked just as promised. The shell cracked evenly, no bits of shell, and no broken yolks. And no mess on my countertop. It's great!

I am one of these people who has trouble cracking eggs and we eat a lot of eggs. This egg cracker is the best kitchen tool I have purchased in a long time. No more messes on the cook top or counter and no egg shells in the pan or bowl. Also great for separating eggs, perfect crack every time. Highly recommend.

This is a long overdue item for most kitchens. Works perfectly every time, and is easy to clean. Only one caveat: It could stand to be a bit heavier as it tends to move around a lot on the counter, and is sometimes blown off the rack owing to the water pressure in the dishwasher. This makes cracking an egg so much easier. I purchased thinking it might be worth a try. It certainly does as advertised. Far less mess than cracking an egg on the counter or side of the pan.

Simply push the egg down on the line and it separates easy with no shells , , simple then use the wide end to pout onto frying pan or bowl for scrambled eggs ,, easy to clean , rinse !

This egg cracker is great! I have weak thumbs, so sometimes trying to crack the egg doesn't go so well... 1 crack and it's a nice clean break! Would definitely recommend this item!!

I found this when looking through kitchen/home items. Again, thank you all for positive reviews and add me to that list. I've destroyed many an egg cracking them on side of counter and this solved that big time. What a great invention! I support our troops and the fact that Dave, the inventor, is a U.S. Marine Veteran ... well ... this just adds to my appreciation of this item. This purchase was a bit of a gamble, because its price for delivery to Canada is insanely, stupidly expensive. I would say it cost at least a few hundred times the value of the plastic it’s made from.However, if it lasts several years, it will be worth it in terms of mess not being made and yolks not being broken. It also minimizes the amount of bits of shell that get into the eggs.A skilled chef could probably match the performance of this gadget, but that’s something I don’t even aspire to be.It has been said one should avoid kitchen gadgets that are single-purpose, but this is likely an exception.

I stopped using in because this device was causing more eggshell’s to crack off.
