Works as it should fits in a one gallon carboy can put a skewer through the top to suspend it from going to bottom. It handled the heat of using a sous vide machine at 140F for 20min

I got this to monitor the water temp of our scalding pot for plucking out meat birds. We took it out briefly to dunk a bird for about 10seconds before placing it back in. We made it maybe 20 birds in of 53 when the temp just wasn’t reading right. We pulled the thermometer and saw the bottom had broken off. The air temp was like 95-100 outside so there wasn’t any thermal shock and it never touched the bottom of the pot.Very disappointing. I liked the idea of a floating thermometer and it came in a nice reusable case. Next time I’ll just use an instant read

Product works well. I used it for homebrewing several batches and it did what I needed. Now the down side. Not a durable piece of equipment. Dropped it approximately 4 inches on to concrete and it shattered. I'm rough on things but this time was not the case.

It's a larger than I thought which is good. Easier to read. Has an eyelet to tie a string to make it easier to retrieve.

Like many other reviews, the bottom broke easily and all of the little steel balls fell out. Fortunately it happened in a measuring cup and not in the wine.
