It works great and is definitely a substantial feeling unit. But...the software could really use some work. Kinda clunky, functions not obvious, past function artifacts, etc. They are releasing updates pretty regularly though. That said, don't expect perfect scans immediately. There is a bit of a learning curve. Oh, and the scan bridge is pretty handy. I would buy it again.

I purchased this item, Raptor 3D scanner from Creality, to expand my 3D printing capabilities. I spent a lot of time setting up a turntable of my own, getting this thing going and figuring out how to handle it I even had to buy a higher end laptop which was expensive,wasn't expecting spending another $1400+. I used the scanner three times two small items (utility knife, Ibanez chorus pedal) and friends face which scanned very well even for my first efforts. The unit sat for not quite two weeks in it's nice protective box. I wanted to make a part for one of my printers and it would not connect to my computer. Nothing changed. I used Online help, forums etc., rebooting, changing connections, nothing had changed, so there's nothing to change in the software it just would not recognize my scanner. I have found through my reading this is an issue that has been blamed on bad cables or some sort of computer files not allowing a connection, nothing definitive, whatever but it did work and doesn't work now, less than a month and 4 uses. Thank God I bought it on Amazon and less than a month of time passing. I'm waiting on my refund. The only new issue now is really finding a scanner that's going to be acceptable for the price range and am I willing to spend a bit more to get that if it exists. All the brands seem to have a tick weather tracking, crappy software or combination of both. It was beautifully packaged I handled it like a newborn baby and very disappointed that it's stopped working. That'll be a lot of money sitting in my Amazon account if I can't find a suitable replacement.

Trying to scan first item but not successful. Nothing wrong with scanner but it just looses traction of part once i flip the part. Will keep trying as i think this is the best i can get for this price and hope i can find the tricks to scan successfully.

Tons of connections issues. Tons of scanning failures. I’m a fan of reality products, but this thing is junk.

It scans very thoroughly, and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to operate it after reading some of the reviews, but in fact, they all used it poorly because they didn't really understand how to operate it. I think it works very well and I'm a scanning junkie.

"This is my first 3D scanner and I'm very impressed so far.I can say that the first thing I learned is that 3D scanning is a skill that needs to be learned; the models in these examples come out incredible and it's really worth the time to practice, practice, practice following the video tutorials. The Creality CR-Scan Otter itself and the software seem very well put together and well made, and I had everything working (including data transfer) pretty quickly."

I encountered difficulties calibrating this unit. While its initial performance out of the box was decent, it quickly lost tracking, leading to subpar scans. Unfortunately, it doesn't meet my requirements and preferences.
