What a great hat box! It's well put together and has the exact vintage style I was looking for to hold my dress hats. I purchased the larger size, so it's also wide enough to hold my cowboy hat. The box is tall enough to easily hold two nested cowboy hats or three nested wide-brimmed fedoras.Admittedly, it's not real leather, but even if natural a leather version of this item could be found, the cost would be prohibitive.The latch and handle fittings are brass, which is a bit lightweight, but sufficient for the purpose. The black "pleather" covering has a very nice hand tooled look, and the gold accents make it a perfect display piece or a nice way to protect and/or carry your prized hats from place to place.The only minor drawback is, the box is1/2" too tall and 1/2' too wide for standard TSA carry-on rules, and I would NOT recommend sending it through the checked baggage "grinder" without putting it inside a larger box to protect it from damage. For me, this is an easy trade off. I'm very happy with the purchase and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a stylish way to store, display, and carry their prized dress or cowboy hats.

I am giving a nice hat as a gift and wanted to give a nice hat box with it. This is perfect. It looks awesome (just like the pictures) and is sturdy enough to arrive undamaged even though the UPS guy launched it over our tall gate. It is big enough to store several hats in.

This hat box exceeded my expectations ten times over! It's the best one I've ever owned. It's larger than I needed just for a hat, but it's being used to store a fox tail, a leather mask, and feathers--everything my cats would shred in a second, given the chance. When I order another hat, I hope that these boxes will still be available. I don't want any other kind. It's worth every cent. The cheaper hat box I ordered arrived smashed, and was returned. This one doesn't have a mark on it. Another would be great to store my leather purses, belts and corsets. Renfaire folks, I highly recommend this box.

I play in an old-time country bluegrass band and purchased this hat box to transport the band's cowboy hats to and from performances. We fit 3 hats in it, but check the brim width on yours because we have one particularly big-headed guy whose hat just barely fits in, width-wise. It's sturdy enough for plane carry-on, but in our case our instruments are our carry-ons and the hat box fits nicely inside of our checked luggage.It's only cardboard, but it looks a lot like leather. Definitely overpriced, but as there was nothing else out there big enough, sturdy enough and stylish enough for our needs, I'm going full 5 stars.

I love it! It is pretty and sturdy, my hat is 14 inches at the base and I still have a little wiggle room, I gave it 4 stars, due to the fact, that there is nothing to hold your hat in place to prevent it from bending when you carry it sideways, I will have to adapt some straps with velcro, other than that, it is my perfect hat box, I will be putting additional hats on top, of course layering them with the sturdier at the bottom, I am very pleased with my purchase and highly recommended it, a note to the manufacturer...the straps to hold hats in place are a must!

This was a bit big for what I needed, but I love it so much I can't complain. It's sturdy, and I love how this looks. Definitely recommend.
