Bought this and the traditional one w/o the slit for comparison. The traditional one seemed slightly more sturdy but this one gave me the option to wear my hair in a ponytail. Not sure if I will, but definitely made using the mask a lot more pleasant. If you have your own mask you should definitely a strap sleeve. If you wear your hair in a ponytail this is a great option.

protected the hair line! no snags, easy to install, bright on the water for location.

Both wife and I are avid snorkelers. One major complaint is the silicone/rubber snorkel bands always get caught in the hair. No more, slapping this on, the neoprene materials keeps the rubber out. No more tangles! Wife loved it as taking on and taking off the snorkel is a breeze now with no more tangled hair. Game changer!

This is a review of "Cressi Neoprene Mask Strap Cover with Ponytail Opening- Keep Hair Tied and Secure with No Tangles - Yellow".This mask strap is great. On our most recent dive trip, I used it with my existing off-brand mask. It fit perfectly and was easy to adjust. I used the cutout to pass my ponytail out through the band, then back in, to keep it from getting in the way. This worked fabulously. I wish I had gotten this years ago- so much hair could have been saved! It rinses quickly and easily, but take a bit of time to fully dry due to the neoprene.

TLDR: Really nice strap that helps so much with hair pulls! I really have only been snorkeling a handful of times and I am obsessed, it is the best way to exercise and also beyond enjoy the ocean or lake life around you! My only issue is I have long silver hair that already makes things hard in the sun with the texture and tangles, so when I put on my mask it always hurts by pulling, even putting on small swimming goggles! This helps immensely with that and I am beyond happy to use it! My only complaint is that it does really only work with nice goggles that have an opening in the back strap, but most goggles seem to have this. If not it may be time to upgrade your set because this feature is very helpful for comfort and long hair! I recommend getting this especially if you have long hair, silver hair, or just want to be a bit more comfortable during those long snorkeling sessions!

We tried another product that had built in straps completely replacing the original strap that came with the mask. The problem we had was the new straps had their own locking clips that would loosen over time so any dive meant constantly having to try to tighten the strap during the dive. It also was a solid piece so while it solved the hair sticking to the strap issue, it was hard to make it work with a pony tail. There is nothing worse than dealing with a leaky mask during a dive.My daughter is my dive buddy and she has long hair so we needed to find a better solution.Cressi is a respected name in the industry and you can tell they put some thought into this strap cover. We are using it with another brand of mask because that is what fits my daughter best. This cover allows us to use the original mask strap that came with the mask so the locking clips work as intended. The cover is hollow inside so the upper and lower pieces of the original mask strap are covered. Small hook and loop fasteners keep the upper and lower pieces in place. The cover has a hole in the middle just like the original strap does allowing a pony tail to stick through. My daughter finds it so much more comfortable, her hair doesn't stick to the strap and the strap doesn't loosen over time. It's the best of both worlds. She is happy so I am happy.

This neoprene mask piece is very easy to put on a mask. It looks a little complicated with all the openings and Velcro when you first take a look at it. However, it’s simply taking off one of the mask strap ends then threading it through the different parts of the cover. The neoprene is higher quality. It’s thick and has excellent Velcro. The pieces stay apart as they should so you can put a ponytail through. It also helps with the pulling of the hair. With long hair, it can be uncomfortable to have that strap. However, with this cushion , it’s much softer and easier to roll on and off of the head. The color is bright and it has a very beachy look without being childish. I would recommend for kiddos taking swim lessons. We have been really pleased.

I typically tie my hair back when I snorkel, and my last strap holder didn't have a split to accommodate my ponytail. Cressi is a reputable brand and when I came across this strap holder, I knew I could trust that it was a quality product. The neoprene is soft, not bulky, and appears durable. The bright blue color helps me stand out a bit in the water. It is very comfortable to wear, and my hair doesn't get caught in the silicone strap when I remove my mask. The velcro fits securely around the silicone mask strap (I did have to undo the mask strap to slide the holder into place). I was a bit disappointed that it didn't have additional velcro to attach my snorkel (my other holder had this feature) but other than that, it's a great strap holder that does what it is designed to do.

I recently purchased this as I do a lot of diving and freediving and as a long, dyed-haired girl was just really sick of the pain of putting my goggles on and off, especially with the texture my hair gets in salt water. Overall I'm satisfied. The neoprene material feels soft and comfortable against the skin, and the design adds a fun touch to my diving gear. One of the standout features of this mask strap cover is its versatility. The adjustable strap allows for a customized fit, and the option to wear it with a ponytail is a nice added bonus. It's great to have a product that accommodates different hair styles and preferences. But also perhaps because of that it's a little thick for my taste. In terms of performance, the strap cover does a good job of preventing hair tangling and providing a secure fit for the mask during dives. The neoprene material also adds a bit of insulation, which is helpful in colder water temperatures. However, I did notice that the strap cover can occasionally slip out of place during more vigorous movements underwater, which can be a bit annoying. Additionally, while the neoprene material is durable, it does tend to retain moisture, so I make sure to rinse it thoroughly after each dive to prevent mold or mildew.Overall it's a solid choice for divers and snorkelers looking to add comfort and style to their gear. It's comfortable, versatile, and does a good job of preventing hair tangling, but it could benefit from some improvements in terms of staying in place during dives.
