Constantly reviewed over the years, this regulator has lots of admirers in the world due to the fact that it is extremely simple and strong, features that make it easy to use and result in low-cost maintenance. 2nd stage X52 The body of the 2nd stage is traditionally sized, made from hi-tech polymers and with a lateral valve downstream system with adjustable orifice, simple and extremely reliable. A flow of pilot air is channeled to the mouthpiece by injection, enhancing the performance. The 2nd stage comes with a a flow deviator that acts on the Venturi effect, with dive/pre-dive function. In any case, performance levels are high, and it is suitable for any kind of dive. 1st stage X52 comes with the traditional Cressi AC2 piston model. This is a non-balanced first stage with such high performance that it can be compared to lots of excellent balanced models. The small number of components, the low weight and the excellent materials make it the strongest Cressi first stages, and the most steadfast to maltreatment, a real "working horse" amongst regulators. An ingenious bush system allows easy and rapid external regulation of the intermediate pressure. It comes in three versions: TNT, DIN 200 bar and DIN 300 bar.

This is one of Cressi's flagship products, it's easy to breathe, easy to maintain, and super reliable. I've been on 10 plus dives with it, bought the matching octo 2nd stage too, and I love it. Performs like more expensive competitors, but it is italian made and offered at a great price point. It's why the company has been around for 48+ years. I love all their products as they are solid, reliable, reasonably priced and high performance. You can't go wrong with this system.

I was a little nervous going with a budget regulator, but it does what it is supposed to do. I have been warned by my local dive shops, not to use it in water temps 60° or colder. Apparently a common problem with this type of regulator is its tendency to free-flow and freeze early. After only a few minutes in 65° water, I’ve concluded the regulator is not what’s keeping me from going any colder.

This regulator is good for the money, it delivers air but likes to free flow as soon as you take it out of your mouth. Breathes extremely wet if inverted, and when parallel to the surface looking up at the sky it's nearly impossible to breath from even at 5 feet. It is my first regulator out of OW training where I was using an Aqua Lung Legend, nowhere near as good as that but then again it was a third of the price so what can you expect. All regulators are required to supply air but how they do it is what makes one better than the other. I wouldn't trust my life to this regulator at anywhere under 80 feet where I was uncomfortable doing a CESA (Controlled Emergency Swimming Ascent). Would be a great backup / pony bottle regulator and for me its a great starter regulator for the price. If you can afford to go with a better reg go for it, however you won't have any serious problems with this reg if taken care of.

I was finally able to use this during a recent Maui dive trip! It is a nice, smooth regulator and worked great! Most of our dives were shore dives and boat dives never went deeper than 61' but overall am really happy with this. One review noted a bit of leakage diving inverted but I did not have that problem during the times I was peeking under reefs and wreckage. Am very, very pleased with this reg both in performance and the purchase itself. Great price and fast shipping. Received it within about a week of purchase. Loved that!!

worked well in warm water. Has adjustable air flow so would think that will work fine in cold water as well. SCBUA instructor tested and approved.
