Very simply the best shackles made if you own a boat, this is what you need for your permanent Mooring or anchor

Cost less than another source and their shackles showed heavy use. These are less expensive, not perfect but appear unused. Do not understand the folks that want these to be the fashion focus of their vehicle.

What's not to like? I retired from the aerospace ground support engineering field and we use this stuff a lot. If you want the best and you're not worried about the cost, this is it. I didn't need this much strength and quality but I just love their stuff. This has a working load of 3.25 tons, in other words, 6500 lbs. It is rated for lifting which means that it is required to have at least a factor of safety of 3 to yield and 5 to ultimate. That means that this will take a force of at least 19500 lbs with no permanent deformation and at least 32500 lbs before actual failure (but with lots of permanent bending). Don't you just love real quality stuff? Oops, I misspoke a little. Crosby went above the requirement and this shackle is actual built to an ultimate safety factor of 6 (thecrosbygroup.com) so it will go to over 39,000 lbs before failure. And during the process of permanent bending before failure, a great deal of energy is absorbed. Great product, great company, love that it's available on Amazon.

This is a pretty simple and straight forward item. It is what it is. The craftmanship is good. It's made in the U.S.A. unlike many others that are now made in China. My only complaint is that mine was a little scratched up when I recieved it. It's going to get really beat up anyway though so that's not a big deal.

Crosby is about as good as they get.

The shackle from a functional standpoint is pretty good I guess. Made in america so the quality of the metal is great compared to something you will get from overseas with a 50/50 chance of pure crap. My gripe is that I order 2 of these in 3 different sizes (6 total) and everyone of them was totally beat up. I'm not sure if they are used, left overs or what but they do not even come close to the picture. I'm totally upset with the fact that the seller has not update the picture to show what you are actually getting. What you see in the picture is NOT what you get. Look elsewhere. The Rugged Ridge are just as good and they actually look like what's in the picture, who would have thought?!

Poor quality finish even for a shackle.Pin paint scratches off with fingernail.Would not recommend.

I use this shackle to connect a safety chain to my car when it is tied down to my trailer for towing. This shackle and the safety chain provide an extra layer of protection. This is a high quality product, made in the USA. I use Mac's tie down straps because of their quality and wouldn't use anything less for a safety shackle. Crosby makes high quality products. It does what it's supposed to.
