A big thanks to this company for making a generic XWFE water filter. I thought this was going to be one of the only products without a generic but so glad they created one to stick it to the man that is GE appliances. And easy way to save $15. I haven't tasted the water yet but installation was a breeze and works just like the other one. Glad I finally found one that comes with the chip included.

This filter works for my GE refrigerator and it is considerably less money than buying at the GE site.GE charges $55 per filter. I tried buying filters on ebay but they do not have the chip under the label that makes it work. we watched the video hack to remove the sticker but it did not remove the entire chip and the filter was useless. This filter works without any hack

In my search for a GE XWFE filter, I inadvertently purchased one from an alternative source. Regrettably, this filter lacked the essential chip, rendering it ineffective. Consequently, I discovered that this particular filter incorporated the chip and offered a more economical option. Given this information, I decided to give it a try. To my astonishment, the chip proved to be highly functional, effectively addressing the issues with my refrigerator. The installation process was remarkably straightforward, and I was delighted to find that there were no leaks. Moreover, the water flow improved significantly, and the taste was noticeably enhanced. I wholeheartedly recommend this filter and intend to make a repeat purchase in the future.

Replaced my XWFE with this. Fit fine, installed easy, recognized by the fridge. Only complaint is being noticeably louder then the stock GE one.

Was skeptical if this would really work as a replacement for GEs absurdly over priced XFWE filter. Nothing but a money grab on their part putting a chip in a filter that forces you to replace every 6 months, worse yet they'll charge $50-$60 for a replacement. GEs filter quits after 6 months, doesn't matter how little water is ran through it but simply a 6 month expiration no matter what.This Crystala filter is a real solution, finally an aftermarket filter with the "chip". Fits and functions just as the GE filters did. No errors or flow restrictions. I ended up running about half a gallon through the system after installation to get rid of any air pockets and the black charcoal particles.... The GE filter at $20 more also had charcoal particles in the first cups of water after replacement so no big deal here.Im a big consumer of bottled water and dont have a big use for ice so the filters never have a lot of water ran through them. My infrequent use and the fact that GE makes you have to replace every 6 months regardless and charge 50-60 all because of a chip made me desire a cheaper option. Look no further than this Crystala. Whether or not the filter light comes on after 6 months, Ill take the cost saving of this Crystala over the over priced GE filter anyday of the week.

I have a GE that uses XWFE filters, which this says it replaces. While this does fit in my refrigerator, the fridge will not dispense water with this filter. I replaced it with a GE filter and it works fine, so this product clearly does not work as a replacement.

Works perfectly in my fridge that requires an XWFE filter (a GE refrigerator), and much cheaper than the original GE filter!
