Compared to the factory unit that came in the lawn mower you can see slight differences. The axles arms are thicker amd there are more cooling fins in the aluminum housing. One word of caution, if your transmission has a belt guide bracket with torx head bolts I found that the holes were not tapped (no threads). I also notice the torx head bolt hole for the front mounting bracket was also untapped. I used my 5/16 National Coarse tap and it was easy fix (was surprised it wasn't metric pitch). I also replaced the factory fluid with the same I use in our farm tractors hydrostatic transmission and is very good at reducing wear (wish i would have done this when I bought the mower). You can purchase this fluid on Amazon "TRIAX Agra UTTO XL Tractor Fluid". I hope this information helps. 😀

Came prefilled ready to go, easy install. My original failed at 51 hours!!!! 😳 This replacement is going on 10 hours so far, no issues.

My wife's XT1 transmission went out. Cub Cadet wanted almost a thousand dollars for the same transmission. Works like a champ and fairly easy to install.
