I originally bought this toaster as a temporary solution until the one i wanted to buy was back in stock. But after using this toaster I no longer see the need in buying a more expensive one because this one does everything I need it to.At this price point you will NOT find a better toaster. It's simple, yet looks attractive on my counter. The shape and design makes it easy to clean. I have toasted bagels, and other types of bread in it and so far it works great.I notice in alot of reviews, not only for this toaster but many others as well, that people complain about the toasters not toasting "perfectly even". I never realized how many OCD people there were in the world until I read those reviews. LOL. The reality is no toaster will ever make a piece of toast exactly the same shade top to bottom, front to back. It's simply unrealistic due to science. Toast is toast. As long as it's toasted, and not burnt... who cares what it looks like?It is important to remember that different types of breads, and different brands of breads use different ingredients. Therefore my toasting experience may not be the same as yours. You have to experiment with your new toaster to find the settings that work for you based on the kind of bread you are toasting. Different ingredients in different breads cause them to toast within different time frames. My preferred setting on this toaster is 3. I started at 5, then 4, and kept going lower until I found a setting that didn't burn the brand of bread I buy. You will have to do the same. But once you find the heat level setting that works for your brand and type of bread, it's smooth sailing moving forward.I would also like to address the "chemical smell", "burning plastic smell" reviews. YES THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL THE FIRST TIME I USED THE TOASTER. It's normal when you are running electricity through heated metal coils for the first time. Again... this is science. It is to be expected. IT WILL GO AWAY AFTER A COUPLE USES. I turned on the toaster for 3 back to back cycles without bread, then 3 back to back cycles with bread that I threw away. After that... NO SMELL. Make sure you have the windows open when you do this.This is currently the #1 top rated toaster on amazon. I think it deserves that spot in the rankings. Buy it.

How old are the two of these hoping that at least one was not a mistake but both of the ones that I bought only toasted one side of the bread and while looking into the toaster while it’s on you can see that not all of the heating bars were working. I am very disappointed. I’ve always had a Cuisinart toaster until the spring when my old toaster decided to only toast on one side. Now all of the new toasters that I’ve ordered only toast on one side even when you put two slices in only one side of each slice gets toasted .

Good, simple toaster. Despite the lack of a removable crumb pan, it's easy to turn upside down to shake out.

My wife and I had used the same toaster for years and years and were kind of bummed when it finally bit the dust a few months back. We LIKED that toaster. We were perfectly happy with that toaster! But now we had to buy a new one.Perhaps we were out of practice in shopping for toasters. Or maybe we thought all toasters were like our old toaster--You put bread in, it gets brown, it pops up, you butter it and enjoy.Not with this toaster. For starters, finding a proper setting is exceedingly difficult (and rare). Right now, the flimsy, cheap-feeling "doneness" dial is cranked up almost as high as it can go and we still have to push the bread down a couple of times. But then we have to watch it so it doesn't burst into flames.It's also very sensitive to how thick or thin the bread is. If it's thin, it WILL start to smoke before it pops up...apparently because it's on that higher setting from when we put in a thicker piece of bread?I used to marvel about our old toaster. I once asked my wife, "How is it, no matter what kind of bread we put in, it toasts it just the right amount and then pops it up? How does it know when it's done?" Well, now I'm learning that our old toaster must have been a freak of nature, because what I'm learning from this QueasyShart toaster is that, not only does it NOT know when toast is done, it doesn't really care. When it pops up looking like a piece of bread, this toaster seems to say, "Is the bread hot?" "Then eat it, nerd!" Or when it overcooks the bread: "Is it burnt to a crisp? Man up and shove it down your pie hole. I'm not here to do your bidding. I am the captain now!"Oh...and when the plumes of smoke in our kitchen set off the smoke alarm and our cats are totally freaking out, you CAN'T just lift up the handle and have the toast pop up. No, that won't work. You have to push a tiny dedicated button (at the bottom of a row of buttons) labeled in tiny letters: "Cancel."I didn't know it was possible to loathe a toaster, but I am truly rooting for this one's early demise.

I have purchased two of these lovely white toasters, one for myself and one for my daughter. Since then I have moved and can't find mine so I'm about to purchase a third one.It's easy to use. You have to determine your own perfect setting, just as you do with any new appliance.I love the defrost function. It's perfect for my gluten-free waffles and bagels. And if you accidentally pick the wrong setting, it has a cancel button! Brilliant!It looks nice; its a convenient size; it's affordable, and most importantly - it works perfectly!As with all new small appliances such as toasters, you will need to allow for that slight odor the first couple of times it's on. It fades away. I don't know why there's an odor, but it happens with all of them, regardless of the brand.

Es algo voluminoso, pero para lo que es funciona perfecto.Siempre he tenido algo de problema con el hecho de que en cualquier tostador siempre se llena por dentro de migajas. Pero este al menos tiene el plus de que por debajo hay una bandeja que uno puede quitar para limpiar las migajas que le caigan.Tiene varias funciones, aunque en realidad solo lo usamos para tostar. Quisimos este porque precisamente estaba muy bien reseñado en The Wirecutter para tostar correctamente, y asà ha sido hasta ahora.Muy recomendable :)

Nunca funcionó, intenté de muchas maneras hacerlo trabajé y ninguna funcionó, me tenéis que tener si tenido la palanquita para poder que trabajara y de repente también dejaba de calentar

first one sent to me had to be returned as some of heat elements not working - second one received still showed some heat elements not working so parts of bread are white and not toasted - small compact size good for limited kitchen space - suits my needs
