This was an electric can opener to replace the cheap flimsy one I had gotten several months ago! The old one wouldn’t even open large cans, very frustrating! This new one is very easy to operate and works as it should. You get what you pay for.

The can opener makes life easier, especially if you have weakness or pain from arthritis. This opener only works well on standard size cans, so keep that in mind.

My husband and I do not leave negative reviews. However we have 2 of the cuisanrt can openers that do not work.Let me please explain.I bought because of the name and thinking these will be good.I bought 2. One for my home and one for my shore house.The one for home was difficult to get to work for 15 Oz cans I had to push down then ever lightly pull the opening mechanism up. One of the knobs in front fell out and I would put it back in.We moved to our shore home when we retired.I could no longer push and pull the opener with 28 oz cans. Gave up.Grabbed the new one from the shore house and had an even worse time.My husband is a mechanical engineer and he couldn’t get the second one to work either.We finally opened the 28 os cans and made our tomato sauce.Later I asked my husband which one finally worked and he couldn’t remember. LOLSo tomorrow we will figure out which one partially worked . Opening a 15 Oz can.I have ordered a manual to be delivered tomorrow night.I am not looking for a refund. It is to long ago.Please realize this is what happened to me. Good luck!

Electric can openers, in general, are a problem. Either their wheel-knives don't function adequately, or they are very fussy in alignment. This cuisinart has good alignment bars, and also a strong motor, such that it will not stall out on heavy-duty lids, as I have encountered on similar products. Recommended.

I purchased as I have other Cuisinart products and like it.At first it’s bigger than I thought, taller than my other model, and heavier. It feels solid and industrial, rather than plasticky which is good.It does come with a US plug, and its US voltage. This was not mentioned or realised until I received it. So if to work in the UK may need a voltage converter, not a travel plug. I’m told this should work.The seller was also very good with communication and being helpful which is a bonus.

I bought this specifically because it was recommended for elderly people. I bought it for my 91 year old mother in the UK, but it has a UK plug. How do I explain to my mother that she now has to go out and buy an adapter, even though I bought it on a UK site?!!
