Unlike a loaded ball mount, however, a Fusion ball mount features a trailer ball that is permanently fixed to the shank structure, making it stronger than a traditional non-welded ball mount. With their fixed tow ball, Fusion ball mounts are also very similar to our Euro Mount ball mounts. Besides increased strength, one advantage of a permanently attached trailer ball is that it can never be loosened or stolen from your vehicle. CURT Fusion ball mounts come with 2" x 2" shanks and include a pin and clip with each unit. This particular Fusion mount features a gross trailer weight capacity of 7,500 lbs. and a tongue weight rating of 750 lbs. It measures 8-1/8" long, has 4" of drop and comes with a 2" diameter trailer ball. CURT Fusion ball mounts are great for towing most standard size trailers, including utility trailers, livestock trailers, boat trailers and campers (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc). i ended up having a hitch that had a 1.5" on the 4" downward offset, but the 2" on the the 4" upward offset, that caused my trailer to hide way to low previous and kept dragging the trailer on my sub urban driveway when bringing it in an out. this raised the back of the trailer a good 8-10 inches from the ground compared to previous. This was a much needed solution.

It’s a big, heavy chunk of metal to attach a trailer to a truck. And it does its job perfectly. Doesn’t drop the trailer as much as I was hoping but that was my mistake.Side note: Amazon shipped this in the same box as my coffee. The trailer hitch won.

These days it’s nice to get a quality part without breaking the bank. This product does that well. I use it to tow my boat and it does the job.

Needed 4 inch drop for my truck. This works good. Seems little looser than other one I had. But not an issue. I like the ball can't be removed. Looks sleek.

So, I didn't get this hitch for towing, instead I mainly bought it to protect my jeep from rear end collisions.. Well today this purchase proved to be worth it as I was rear ended at what I believe was 20mph. All i saw before the person fled was the collision completely folded the other cars hood, I only received scratches to the hitch. (Didn't check the pin as I'm replacing no matter what if i tow something, just in case there's a fracture/cut that I can't see)

A solid Curt product. The simplicity of this trailer hitch ball mount is what’s great. Once you know what your measurements are for the trailer such as hitch height and weight limits, you can purchase an item such as this knowing that it is exactly what that trailer requires with that tow vehicle. And with the welded ball design it takes away the worry of a nut loosening. The four trailers that I tow all require different hitch ball mounts and this is one of those mounts I trust. I do recommend that you actually use a locking type hitch pin if you tend to leave your hitch ball mount on your vehicle when not towing as these are an easy theft item.

Misinformation... the drop height is supposed to be 4'' but in reality it's 3 1/2". It's not huge but for my enclosed trailer I needed 4 1/2'' to be perfectly level so by taking 4" drop, I was accepting a slight compromise. I have a welding business but thought I was saving time for the price but now I have to return it and make one myself. For the build quality, it looks good, the welds are ok and the paint looks quality.

The receiver is not a 4" drop as described. The description says there is a 4" drop from the top of the receiver to the top of the plate under the ball but it is actually 3¼. It is 4" from the top of the receiver to the bottom side of the plate under the ball.
