These stingers come with all necessary towing components and are pre-fitted with a factory-torqued trailer ball, eliminating the need to mount and torque your own trailer ball. This means a loaded ball mount is ready for towing right out of the package! CURT offers loaded ball mounts in a variety of styles and weight ratings. This CURT forged loaded ball mount features a gross trailer weight capacity of 15,000 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 1,500 lbs. It comes with a 2-5/16" trailer ball, making it an excellent choice for towing most heavy-duty trailers, including large boat trailers, double-axle utility trailers, deluxe campers, livestock trailers and recreational vehicle trailers used for hauling motorcycles, personal watercraft and ATVs (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc). This ball mount also has a length of 8-1/2", a drop of 2" and comes with a durable carbide black powder coat finish to resist rust, chipping and UV damage. Excellent, very heavy duty hitch with 15,000 tow rating. I bought this for my 2011 RAM 1500 because I knew it would be more than sufficient for any load I would expect from my truck and it had the correct amount of "drop" for my trailer. Super happy with this product.

I bought this knowing it was over kill for my F150, however, did not want to leave any doubt in capability in what I was hauling in my dump trailer. Very sturdy and I don't have to worry about this being a weak point in my projects.

Feels very solid. Saw other people had issues with the ball not being torqued from factory but mine was fine. I’ve been towing about 14,000lb with it.Two things to note- The listing is wrong about the ratings. It’s rated higher than listed.It’s 17,000lb GTW and 2,550lb TWBUT the ball is only rated for 15,000lb. Doubt anything would happen if you still used it for 17k but worth pointing out- As pointed out in other reviews the hitch casting is about 1/16th or so too small all the way around. This will definitely lead to a noisier tow and potentially a reduced rating.Two ways to fix the fit. Buy the u bolt anti rattle device ~$15 Or shim it with thin sheet metal. This would take some fab work so that the pin would fit but is probably the safer choice.I’ll probably try the u bolt first and make a shimming sleeve when I have time.
