I wanted this for when I have my camper on my truck so I can be assured people close by are aware I am backing up. This installed perfectly in just a few seconds. It's not commercial-truck-loud, and it could even be quieter. But it does the job that it's intended for.

Super quick install and it seems to be of good quality. The only reason for four stars instead of five is the volume of the alarm isnt the best but it gets the job does in most cases. Good value for the money

As others have stated the beeper isn't the loudest but it'll get the attention of those around. Works well and super easy install. Great safety item at a great price

It's a nice compact piece. And it does have an alarm in it but...I worked with heavy equipment and buses for 37 years. And they all have "backuo" alarms. All are at industry minimum of 95 dB. This item here is NO WAY 97 dB as advertised. I can barely hear it with both windows open on a light duty regular cab 1500 pickup truck. I'm contemplating sending this waste of money back over the weekend.

Plugged this into a 2003 Toyota 4Runner Limited for my teenaged daughter. You can hear it from inside, but not too loudly - and not really at all with music playing. From outside it's just loud enough for those in the immediate area to hear - like a grocery store parking lot. I've been able to see people pause and look up when backing up, so it works great!

As stated it installed directly into the 7 pin plug on our truck. Since we need to use it without a trailer at times, we drilled a hole in the spring loaded cover to ensure it can be heard as the cover does muffle the sound substantially.

Got this mainly to incorporate a beep sound when backing up my Toyota 4 Runner. The device seems well constructed and sturdy. The reason i did not give 5 stars is because i think it lack a means to secure the device to the car, seem quite possible for the device to fall off or be stolen.

Works really good, but as others have said it's REALLY quiet... My diesel truck is deleted, but HAS a muffler and cats, but you can't hear it over the exhaust....Then randomly one day (after the return window...) it stopped working and hasn't worked since.Feels like it's a cheaper quality device....
