So the '03 Passat needed new front pads; and lo and behold--a new set of boots on the driveshaft outer CV joints. If you're like me and don't mind working on your own vehicle; you take the time to go looking for any other trouble on the horizon...chances are good you'll find it.Now some would say; why not just replace the boots--why the entire axle? I may be frugal; but my momma didn't raise no fool...Once a CV joint boot has been compromised; it's a safe bet that the bearings are soon to follow: broken boot not only allows grease to release--it also welcomes grit, water, etc. to invade the hallowed grounds of a protected environment.And you gotta remove the entire axle in event. When you consider the time involved; the entire axle being replaced is about equal to the time doing the boot job when you consider the CV joint must be removed, cleaned and new grease installed.This is one of those simple maintenance jobs that if ignored; catastrophic failure can occur.Make your momma proud...

ordered these because my Toyota Sienna was doing a weird noise. I took it to the mechanic that told my CV Axle (front) were damaged. His price was higher, then I decided to buy from Amazon. It was shipped very quickly, and another mechanic helped me put it at half the other mechanic's price. In conclusion, I'm highly satisfied.
