About this item

  • Compatible With: Chevrolet Gen III, Gen IV, and LS engines manufactured between 2004 and present. Primary head bolts must all have the same length. There is a Mid-Year split on the head bolts, if you have 2 different size head bolts this kit is NOT for YOU.
  • ULTRA STRENGTH: In comparison to standard bolts, our alloy's material characteristics enable much higher tensile strength. For the best fatigue strength, threads are rolled after thermal treatment. A high-quality coating can improve corrosion resistance, reduce friction, and improve overall performance.
  • Premium Quality: The black oxide coating guards against deterioration.  Parallel washers that have been hardened enable precise torque measurements and uniform load distribution.
  • Easy Installation: The XP981 kit also features a high-temperature coating that provides enhanced heat resistance. This helps to prevent the studs and nuts from becoming damaged or weakened due to high temperatures, which is especially important in high-performance diesel engines.
  • Torque capacity: The bolts have the appropriate torque capacity to handle the high compression and cylinder pressures of these engines. Please note, when installing our product, the final torque for the 11mm bolts are 75 ft-lbs and NOT 85 ft-lbs as incorrectly noted on our manual.

Installed these on my 06 5.3L LS and worked great. Follow torque specs given. It was something like 25ft, 55ft & 85ft lbs. No stretch specs listed.

I used arp torque specs at 75 final.... 25 on the small ones, none broken.. be sure you have washers on the right side, plenty of grease to completely coat all threads and between washers and bolt heads with leftover, I think it was arp or jegs bolts that called for 75, seen people say 70 is plenty so I'm good with 75They seem to be really nice quality

Time will tell, but they look and feel good quality, torqued without any issue, seems like a good middle ground between stock bolts and arp studs

Worked great for LM7 build. I’d recommend chasing out all your threads to ensure you get accurate torque readings. Had one of my threads gunked up and gave me a bit of trouble but after cleaning it out the install went just fine. I torqued them to the 80 ft/lbs stated in the instructions and never felt like I was about to break or strip a bolt. All in all solid purchase.
