The gasket itself is perfect and fits perfectly. I read the reviews and took the advice of everyone. I reused my OEM Screen Filter from the original gasket I only used the Rubber Gasket portion, it pops out and swaps over. The Metal Screen was mounted backwards on the gasket but I had plans to swap ot anyways so that didn’t bother me any. I finally got the pesky leak from the spool valve to stop. It was leaking directly onto my alternator and was starting to foul it out. Glad I caught it when I did! I recommend this gasket to anyone who has a J35 with the leaky spool valve. It WILL fix the leak, just be sure to reuse the OEM screen filter, and clean it out with brake clean before putting into the rubber gasket!

The gasket with metal mesh filter does not fit very well in the spool valve of 2011 Honda pilot, as it is a little big. It can be forced to insert into the trench of spool valve. However, after two hours of driving, the check engine light was on. Then opened the spool valve again, this gasket got cracked around metal filter area.

It was relatively easy to replace and the past fit well.

Many complain about there gaskets so I was a bit hesitant at first but I never had any other options really. They don’t fit absolutely perfectly but all I did was tighted the VVT solenoid down hand tight for a weekend and then took it off a again to check the gasket had not pinched. It was fine so I proceeded to torque it down and I have done nearly 1000 miles without any leaks or engine codes.I have ordered the next set to do my next Honda.

A few hundred miles leak free so far. Fit a 2010 Odyssey J35A7 just fine. Gasket had a tiny bit of excess material but easily conformed once sandwiched.

Very happy the oil leak finally stopped! It has been several days no leak with the new gaskets and I may provide a long-term update. This is the second set of gaskets I purchased -- the first was from a different vendor and did not entirely stop the leak. When replacing the gaskets, apply a bit engine oil on them and don't over-torque the bolts -- ONLY 106 inch pound (NOT ft lb) for the two shorter bolts and 110 for the longer one. NO anti-seize necessary! Good luck!

The rubber around the screen is slightly imperfect (too thick) and would not allow for a comfortable seat in the grooves. However, I took a chance and allowed the plate to compress it into the grooves as I tightened it all down evenly. I will be checking for leaks every day for months now and report back. May just go to Honda and get OEM anyways.
