My family room has a ceiling fan with pull stings up in 12 feet height. LOL. Obviously nobody can pull the strings without a ladder. So essentially there is no control of the fan speed.Quality: The switch seems to be very well built.Installation: straight forward like other smart switches.App: this is the only device I have for the Cync app, I linked it with Google Home which is my major app for everything home automation. App is not bad. It has control to turn off the ring LED as opposed by some other reviews. The Google Home control is fine with some quirk (the speed shows 0% after you adjust it by sliding and you have to exit and reopen the app to see its correct speed again)Controls: 4 speed control is nice. My fan was shaking and noisy a bit before since it was stuck with max speed. Now I set it to speed 1 or 2, super quiet. All in all recommended!

Easy install. Works great with Alexa.

Installation is easy. App setup is also straight forward. However, the Cync app lacks of some flexibility and quick access to timer. For example, I want to turn on the fan at sleep time and have it turned off after 2 hours. I need be to go to the schedule setup and configure it. It would be great if there’s timer setting which allows users quickly select the run time. There’s also lack of controls for the light indicators on the unit, which can be annoying for people needing very dark room during sleep. I’ve been using many apps and Feit Electric app is the best so far.

After using this for quite some time, I thought I really should write a short review. I have been using this for over a year now without failure. I have to say that this works like a dream and it’s so convenient to not only be able to control on/off, but the speed control as well using my voice through Alexa. I have this installed in a bedroom and being able to change the speed using my voice means I’m not fidgeting for a remote. I talk, fan responds, I go back to sleep. Win, win win. I highly recommend this smart control, but do make sure you have the proper wiring.

My new home came with ceiling fans that didn’t have remotes on them. I wanted to be able to control them remotely and found these switches that work like a charm. I can control the speed from the wall, my phone or Alexa. Setup was quick and easy too. Way simpler than installing a remote control directly to the fan.

The first one I ordered didn't change speeds and wouldn't connect to the app..Returned for replacementNew one doesn't change speeds either! I almost returned it but decided to try the app and it did connect. Once connected to the app, the physical buttons to change speed worked... The fact that you can't use this right out of the box is just crazy. So now it works but the lowest setting is so low the fan won't even start spinning. There is no way to adjust or even disable the lowest speed so there is an unusable low speed, medium, high and max.. So now when we tell Google/Alexa fan speeds, it's medium, high, max.... Not intuitive to say the least. My offbrand controllers work way better than this. Must be why it was only $20

I've have a number of Cync smart switches and plugs. Pairing the switches/plugs to the app is never as simple and straight-forward as you want it to be. It's always a little bit of a struggle to get everything connected and working wirelessly. I never was able to get the app to recognize this switch. I got it to work by bypassing the app completely, though I'm not sure if this caused me to lose some functionality. Also, my fault for not reading the listing more closely, but this switch doesn't control the ceiling fan light, just the speed.
