The viola is okay. It has the french bridge. Bows are decent. I was just a bit disappointed as I had not thought there would be such a big difference in the tone quality between 14 inch and 15.5 inch... I own a 15.5 inch viola (D’Luca) which is cheaper but just really beautiful tone... I was expecting better tone quality given the higher price but what I see now is a stuffy toned viola. Sounds just like a violin with viola strings which was what I was doing for a while for my kid. I will keep it for my grade 5 viola player since kid cannot play anything larger but in case anyone is interested in a small viola - pls go for the larger size as the small size really does not hold up the resonance of the thicker strings....

i recently visited a Snow instrument dealer. i played several violins, violas, and cellos. i purchased a SA200 viola and am going back in a few weeks to take one of the cellos.i am a professional double bassist, and full time music educator. i'm picky with instrument choice, and i'm always searching for the best bang for the buck. from now on i'm reccomending snow instruments to all of my students.my particular viola has an exceptionally even sound between high and low registers. the sound has character, it sounds full and strong without being too dark or overly bright. it is strung with helicores. plenty of projection and volume. the varnish looks wonderful, too. not a bad thing i can say about it. the higher models were all just as great for the price, too.highly highly highly reccomended.
