I hadn't played my clarinet since elementary school. I recently got my clarinet out only to discover that I had no reeds or cork grease in my case (probably a good thing--I hate to think of what shape they'd be in after 30 years). Since there is no musical instrument store locally, I went through Amazon to purchase my reeds. I purchased these Mitchell Lurie Premium reeds based on their low price, plus the fact that I could purchase cork grease from the same company at the same time. As I recall, I paid $1.25 per bamboo reed in 1970, so I was surprised that the price for good reeds had not escalated over the years. [Cork grease, on the other hand...]I was expecting these reeds to be plastic so was pleasantly surprised to find that these reeds are bamboo and seemingly of good quality. Strength 2.5 might be a little stiff for an 'Age 11 Beginner Who Has Just Picked Up Her Clarinet for the First time in 30 Years'--but, hey, who's listening to me play other than me?Even after 30 years I still remember the basic ABC finger scale. You know, it's kind of like riding a bicycle--you never forget how. But What I need now is a book with easy songs to play and explanations on how, for People Who Have Not Touched Their Clarinet For 30 Years and Don't Remember What To Do With All Those Other Keys. I don't want to hire a music teacher--after all, I'm not being sought out by a jazz band for my talent, so there's no monetary future in it. I can't justify the cost of clarinet lessons since I'd just be playing by myself. I'm not even talented enough for a group that's gathering just for fun. So if anyone out there knows of a good self-tutorial book on the clarinet for someone like me, who's picked the clarinet up again after 30 years just for fun, please let me know the name of the book.

For the past several years I've used nothing but Vandoren and Rico reeds, but they haven't been as good as these are.My last box of 3.0 Vandoren reeds only had about three out of ten good, working reeds. The others were trash straight out of the box. I've also tried Vandoren 3.5, which is way too hard to blow for any quality or loud sound.I've had Rico at 3.0, too soft, and 3.5 is similar to the Vandoren 3.0's, but again it depends on how many are actually good out of the box.This was the first time I tried Mitchell Lurie reeds 3.0, and the first one was good out of the box. The sound was clear and loud. I'm anxious to try any of the other four in the box, but so far I have a good impression of the fact that one out of five was very good. That's already equivalent to two out of ten in the Vandoren box being good. I think that these may be my go-to reeds in the future for great quality.

These clarinet reeds are excellent. The quality is amazing; some reed brands have only a few "good" reeds in each box they sell. Mitchell Lurie, however, generally has a full box of quality working reeds. They come in very nice individual plastic cases, so that each reed is protected from chips or nicks. These reeds work right out of the box. Once they are moistened (as you usually would before using any reed), they are able to be played on the instrument without any fuss. Each reed is stamped with the brand name and hardness of the reed, making it easy to differentiate between different hardnesses of reeds in your case. Ive been playing clarinet for 25 years, and these are my go-to brand. I'd definitely recommend these for anyone looking for a high quality, high value reed that won't break the bank.

I absolutely love these reeds. I actually just purchased these for the first time and I’m very impressed. I play on the BD5 mouthpiece and they work really well together compared to other reeds I have used throughout my 7 years of playing so far. These are easily the best reeds I’ve ever played on and are great fresh out of the box after moistening. The response is fantastic. Plus, these also make big jumps much smoother with no random squeaking sounds in between. Very very please. Thank you! Will be purchasing these specific reeds from now on. And they’re a great price.

Hallo, Preis und Leistung stimmen perfekt, habe diese Blätter nach mehrmaligem Anblasen in Reserve, normalerweise blase ich 3,0aber es gibt Tage, an denen ich nicht so gut in Form bin, dann leisten mir diese Blätter sehr gute Dienste.

I love D'addario reeds but these ones are bottom of the heap. Save yourself time and money and get some of their better quality reeds. Juno or Royal are head and shoulders above these. Seriously you will thank me.
