Great for drawing long, clean lines. The Maestro designation denotes the highest quality winter male Kolinsky Red Sable hair from the Tobol River region in Eastern Siberia. All brushes are handmade from raw material to finished brush by skilled artisans at the da Vinci factory in Germany. A favorite of watercolorist Charles Reid. Sizes 000 to 24.

The brush works very well and seems to keep shape very well. The tip is sharp and has good snap. Definitely going to get some more.4 months later and the brush is still in perfect condition. Ive used it so much all of the gold lettering has worn off the handle but all of the hairs remain tamed and the point is still sharp.

I've been face painting for a couple of years. Have tried many recommended brushes with relative success. This was the first of several "Kolinsky" sable brushes I splurged on to arrive and it's WONDERFUL! I plan to replace all my synthetic brushes over time. It's well worth the expenditure when the experience and results are this dramatically improved.

I have moved on from Windsor and Newton Series 7 brushes after they clearly let their standards go. After hearing from some reviews of the DaVinci Maestro 35, I decided to give it a chance. These are expensive brushes for what they are, and though just a bit better than their competitor, I find the brushes came with plenty of frayed hairs and a poorly shaped tip. I'm back on the quest for a quality Sable brush.

These brushes are gorgeous. If well taken care of, they will last months or years. Very versatile!

I use Silver Brush Black Velvet brushes. With so many watercolor painters using this brand I got 2 and expected to enjoy them. Not the case. I am not hard on my brushes, in fact I’m pretty careful about using, cleaning and storage. These 2 brushes came to me looking very nice, but after one use, even while using them it felt like it was a cheap kids brush that had frayed. I am so sorry to the farm raised animal who was slaughtered for their hairs, what a waste. Every time I see the brushes I just feel let down. Expensive and useless. I don’t recommend these if your used to a softer fine brush.
