It's a nice collar, I think it should last a very long time. When I first pulled it out I was a little overwhelmed with all the little extras that are attached to it, I thought for sure those would rub or get annoying for the dog, my dog took right to the collar and seems to enjoy it. It's thicker than I expected, it's wider than I expected, and it has some weight to it, none of these things are bad or good, they just are. The one thing I do like, that I didn't even realize when buying it what's that right where you connect the collar at its class which is metal, it actually has a small section of Velcro, so even if the clasp gets opened somehow there's still an inch and a half of Velcro keeping it secure, it also means that you can make it a little bit tighter around the neck than what the clasp can do. So it's kind of like having a belt with two notches on it that you favor, your fat days notch and your skinny days notch that way you're not constantly adjusting the collar you can just adjust where you velcro it and then click it into place. It comes with some Velcro on the outside for patches that you can apply, for example, service dog, warning I bite, or what came with it, was an American flag, I wasn't sure how well it would stay on but I've attached it and it is not come loose at all. I was also sent a patch, that reads mama says I'm special. That'd be nice if I was a mama, but I'm a papa, I could have probably figured that out from the name and supplied the correct patch or every dog collar gets the same two patches American flag and a mama says I'm special. Eventually I will go out and buy a reflective patch. But that is the one thing that this collar is lacking, it is the ability to be reflective. As a puppy he had a reflective collar and I loved it, when he would go out in the yard at night just a little bit of light that hit that collar and I knew exactly where he was, now I have to just listen for the jingle of his tags. Again, wish they had an option for reflective collar but they didn't, so my plan was to buy a reflective patch which I will do eventually. Overall the collar is solid, well made and would definitely recommend. There is a built-in handle, which is a nice feature, but almost maybe a novelty item if I had the choice of that collar coming with the handle or not, I probably would buy the one without. But who knows, I've only had the collar a couple weeks, I may use the handle more often than I think. However on that topic, the handle is velcro down to make everything nice and neat, if I'm needing to use that handle it's in an emergency where I don't have time to un velcro it, kind of defeats the purpose. It was easy enough to get to the right size and install on my dog, it did not come with any funky scent as some items do. And I would recommend.

. . . we rescued an eleven year old lab mix recently. He's a wonderful old soul and this collar is probably more sturdy than needed. What attracted me to this collar is the clasp. It is extraordinarily secure yet easy to release by depressing the mechanism. I have given this product a five star rating but, in truth, would actually have given it a four and a half if half stars were allowed. My issue with the collar is its width. I would prefer it to be narrower. Perhaps only an inch wide. The bulk of the width is a bit too much.In some of the other reviews folks have commented on securing the Velcro closure by making a hole in it and fastening it with a ziptie. We purchased a name tag and have placed it over the Velcro adjustment. The product which we purchased is: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08TM84K92?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title . This works wonderfully for securing the Velcro fastener. The ability to customize the length of the collar is another of its selling points.My second negative is the lack of ability to accommodate multiple dog tags. We have tags with his name and our contact information, his lifetime license, his rabies tag and an engraved tag with his microchip number. What we have done is to place them along the built in grab handle. This is a decent work around for us because we won't really need to utilize the grab feature.All in all I would recommend this collar. You can't beat the price and the quality of the manufacture is outstanding. If available, I would deduct a half of a star, however, for the items mentioned above.

Pros: The Large size collar was great for my 50lbs border collie mix (Who's usually a size Large in petstore clothing). I originally got this collar so I could easily grab my dog when she gets into things she's not supposed or when she occasionally catches a little critter outside and refuses to drop it. The inside of the collar is a soft material so it doesn't irritate my dogs neck. There's also velcro on the collar as well that allows it to be adjusted.Cons:I ordered this collar a year ago and I already have to order a replacement. The collar was able to withstand wear and tare and constant tugging and washing, however over time the metal on the buckle has gotten smooth and the buckle no longer holds the collar closed.

I absolutely love this collar and will be ordering 2 more for my other dogs! I have a Plott Hound, which is a pretty large breed (she weighs about 60 lbs.) who kept getting out of her collar. She hasn't gotten out of this one a single time and she also seems to be responding to the leash better as well and not wanting to pull as much. It's extremely easy to adjust and take on or off. The velcro design for the fit customization is genius and it hasn't loosened up at all, which was another problem we have had with many collars. It is also over an inch and a half thich which leaves plenty of room for comfortability with quick communication through the leash. Overall, I am extremely happy with this collar and feel every collar should be designed in a similar fashion! The next two are for Blue Heelers and I know they will do great

It’s more suitable for a tougher breed of dog. Perhaps it should be manufactured with a lighter clasp.

After looking at it I worked out how to adjust it properly and fixed it up. Then applied it to Valiant my Australian Shepherd. He's very unhappy that he no longer has loosen his collar and escape... But I am very happy he can no longer escape and the collar suits the rest of his purple themed gear.
