These unique straps have no equal, having been born over a 5 year period by DaKines R&D Team Members in the Mid '90's.Their goal was to create a footstrap that was safe, comfortable and allowing for maximum control. They nailed it in all 3 areas. Many of the sports top professional and advanced sailors still use and swear by these straps.The keys in making these straps work to their ultimate potential, rely on proper setup on the board. The first important step is using a solid FOUR screw attachment to the boards deck. This could involve adding these to your board. The second key is increasing the distance between the front and rear attachment points by 1/2". This allows the foot to rotate out of the strap in the case of a catapult fall, without adding a feeling of control loss.

these lasted at least 3 years, (used when I got the board) Surprised they didnt break, since Im hard on stuff ..just wore out the padding. I replaced with some X-laces to try.
