The knob on my old faucet broke and this worked perfectly. It's a little hard to turn when it's wet, but it does the job and was so easy to install.

This product came with everything necessary to install the knob except for a screwdriver, which wasn’t a problem at all. It took me about 5 minutes to install using the instructions written on the back of the box— just unscrew the old knob, replace, and screw back in. Super easy and really elevated the look of my bathroom; it doesn’t look cheap!

The original (unknown manufacturer) handles were not comfortable in hand, but the spline on the valve stem was impossible to match with any replacements after searches in the usual home improvement stores and online. The clamping 'vise' adapter included, solved this problem nicely. The finagling was as follows:The end of the original valve stems did not extend past the trim tube that conceals the stem. This presented a problem in that the screws to tighten the 'vise' adaptor were not accessible when placed on the splined end of the valve stem. This was remedied by unscrewing the trim tubes.... then installing the 'vise' adapter... then reinstalling the trim tube. When it comes time to attach the knob to the stem you must align the notches on the 'vise' adapter to the insideof the knob. Then install the knob keeper screw.I had to use the long spacer that is included to keep the knobs from touching the shower wall.In order to get the long spacer (if used) aligned properly to the 'vise' clamp and the knob, insert the proper long keeper screw into the knob and spacer with the spacer aligned inside the knob. Then align the other end of the spacer to the 'vice' slots, and then tighten the knob keeper screw. There is only the one spacer included, so the instruction to choose the best spacer make no sense. If the spacer length is too long, I think cutting it down to size with a hack saw would work, but the he length of knob keeper screw would have to be shortened also. There are 3 different style long keeper screws included to use if the long spacer is used. They are each a different thread pitch, so test to see which one is correct before installing the knob and tightening.

Within days of my bathroom remodel, the handle fell off my Diverter stem. The stem was too short for the handle to grip securely. So I have had vice grips on my shower Diverter stem for 7 years! I bought this despite some of the comments in reviews and am glad I did. However, it wasn’t after a challenge. The canopy was too deep (new handle was too long). After no luck to find a replacement that would fit (even though they said universal) I thought to trim the edge to shorten it. So I carefully cut about 3/4 to an inch off the open end with a hacksaw, then smoothed the trimmed edge with a sander. Voila! My shower now has a handle like a normal person. It works great!
