Replace your sink drain components with this DANCO Slip-joint nut and washer. This split thread coupling nut allows you to replace the broken slip-joint nut without having to disassemble the trap. The washer forms a seal between the nut and pipe fitting to help prevent leaks. It is made of durable plastic that will endure the rigors of everyday use.

This thing is great. The gasket on my kitchen sink cracked and was leaking. This thing took care of the problem. No more leaks. Easy to install. Just separate it, put it on the pipe and the two pieces slide together around the joint. Simple and effective

This is a novel idea, but it should be made of metal. When I first tried tightening this (purely by hand), it deformed and slipped before I could get it tight. After a lot of experimenting with teflon tape, different gaskets/washers, I managed to form a semi-tight seal, but it still drips and I need to keep a bucket under the sink. Further, if I try tightening it even the slightest bit more (again, by hand), it will pop and go completely loose again. If this was built from a stronger material (like steel), I think it would be great, but as is, I think I may need to buy a whole new one and just be careful not to tighten it too much the first time using the final set of tape and washers I found to (mostly) work. Either that or just cave get a plumber to fix this for real.I'm pretty frustrated by this to be honest.

I don't know who invented this but I'm glad they did. I have a very old home with some interesting piping under the sink. I could not have repaired my pipes without this product. This went right on and with water tape.. It was leak proof.

Prior plumber didn't do the drain tubes per standards and old slip nut was worn/broken and could NOT be removed normally (had to be cut out). This 2 piece slip joint nut was a savior, allowed me to NOT re-do the whole kitchen drainage piping, saved $45+ in parts and probably 1-2 hours labor.

At first the P-trap junction leaked. I added teflon tape wrapped around the threads and it still leaked. I added more teflon tape and miracle of miracles...problem solved. I was used an older batch of teflon tape that was thicker than the new stuff and I still had to do about 4 wrap arounds the threads. Your teflon tape mileage may vary, but don't hesitate to use more if your joint is leaky. Hope this helps.

There is a 1 1/2 inch black rubber washer included that seem to do the job well. This product is excellent and saved me 90 minutes of work. I would have had to otherwise unseat the main pipe since a regular joint nut would not have fit over the lip on the problem side of the pipe. I only wish I could 3d print these :)

This WILL NOT fit around a 1 1/2" PVC threaded drain pipe. If you are buying it to avoid re-cutting and re-cementing 1 1/2" PVC because the P-trap nut cracked, as I did, you will be disappointed.

Product was ineffective. Joint was leaking like crazy after installed. Wouldn’t recommend
