I needed an accurate thermometer for my aquarium. I have the standard aquarium thermometers (2) one of them read 2 deg F high and the other 1 deg F low when placed in ice water. In addition, it took them a long time to get to their final reading. This device gave me an accurate reading within a few seconds. In addition, it will monitor for max, min, and average and has a hold function. You can monitor 2 temperatures at the same time. It came with 4 type K thermocouples. Very pleased - great value for the price. It is not built for industrial use - but they do not charge industrial prices either.

I had some ovens people said we’re not holding proper temperature. I used it to check the oven temperatures and worked well. Showed nothing wrong with ovens. Can see will be many uses for it since always fixing stuff and tinkeringDAVE

I've received it september 31st and I just found out today November 10th that it is not working properly.It's over 30days from I bough it, which means I can not even return it. My one of refrigerators at my restaurant was kind of not right temperature so I tried using this thermometer first time yesterday and today but it doesn't work properly.IT IS WASTE MONEY!

The problem is that if you store multiple probes, etc with the instrument in the case the power button is easily depressed which turns the instrument on without you knowing it and would run battery down. Power button should be depressed or guarded in some way to avoid accidental turn on.

I use this meter primarily to check oven temperatures, utilizing the air temperature probes. I measured temps using another tester from Extech. The Danoplus meter has a faster response time and seems pretty accurate. One of the air probes that came with the tester has a soldered tip that kinda got unsoldered, as the temps exceeded 400 degrees F. The air probe still works, however. As a whole, glad to purchase this tester.

I bought this mainly to troubleshoot an oven that didn't seem to be holding its temperature reliably. This device proved to me that it doesn't! Now I can prove it to a repair service. Also found the device handy for checking fridge and freezer temperature, as well as room and outdoors. Handy to have the dual inputs to compare different probes; reassuring when they are in close agreement.

He usado este producto para medir la temperatura de un horno cerámico que llega a mil grados. En el producto se indicaba que el producto es apto para este tipo de producto y temperatura. Al introducir únicamente la barra de metal por cercanÃa, aún sin meter el plástico en los agujeros del horno, este se derretÃa haciendo imposible las medición de la temperatura. Por otro lado, al ir calculando la temperatura iba subiendo muy lentamente lo que hace muy poco eficiente las mediciones. No dudo de que sirva para otras cosas, pero para hornos cerámicos no. Por otro lado, el paquete me llegó antes del dÃa previsto, lo cual es positivo.

The item description says the thermocouple thermometer is good to 1300 degrees C. But the probes that were supplied with it are only good to much lower temperatures, so it is very misleading, and now I need to return it or find probes that handle higher temperatures in order to use it.*** Update *** The vendor was caring and concerned and I realized that I would need to get a separate k-type probe for handling the high temperatures, as mentioned elsewhere within the listing. Excellent customer service and followup. I have purchased the needed probe, and the unit works perfectly!
