I did small test. Mine didn't have much junk. But I didn't take it completely apart either. I noticed a small casing flaw on the wheel. But nothing that I can't clean up if I need to. But as for now it's not bothering me.The lever could be longer. And I will probably replace it down the line.But all in all, Couple adjustments and it runs true and goes up and down. The three tips that comes with it are solid. And seem to be what I need.I'm happy with it for now. But I haven't used it, used it yet.

The picture does not represent the color (it comes in black) and it was quite dirty/oily as well. I had to spend time cleaning it before I could use it.

Very good heavy duty little press, for small to medium jobs, more than adequate for normal garage or small machine shop use.

Ordered through one of the sponsored links (Zorro) and got free shipping and saved about fifteen bucks but still had to pay state tax. I expected the bright blue item as pictured but it's dark gray metallic hammered paint. Going directly to the Zorro website shows the actual Dayton 4Z328J press I got in the box even though Zorro and most places show the bright blue press on their main page. The hand wheel is very rough with flaking paint right out of the box and the entire unit is oily and covered in grime. Wear some rubber gloves when opening it and clean it. The anvil is painted on the edge and bare metal with a trace of rusty film under the oil on the work surface. Not sure if I'll clean it and paint it as it's probably going to get the most abuse during regular use. As I only needed something for occasional use this press should be okay.

nice press. solid machine, but the one i got was grey! does not affect it's quality but it is not exactly as pictured.
