I needed a new one cause my old one wasnt charging or would charge at low voltage. This one charges fine at 13.7 volts. Fit perfectly on my 82 mecury colony park wagon

Broke the alternator V belt, and realized it was pulling 97 amps. The regulator had failed, and was forcing the alternator to go full charge, which caused the dynamic resistance of current generation to shred the belt in short order, which is far better than destroying a battery due to overcharging. The worst part was getting access to the E350 7.3idi regulator, which is mounted on the body in front of the left battery, and needs to be removed first.Easy fix, very reasonably priced.Highly recommend this product.Have two diesel trucks with Ford Gen 2 charging systems, will purchase another to replace when the other one fails.

My truck's voltage was pretty low, around 13 volts when running. I installed this and now I'm getting a consistent 14.2. Make sure it's grounded well where it's attached or it won't work.

It failed after 45 minutes of driving. I took it off my truck and something inside is completely lose. I don’t know if it was just a faulty voltage regulator or if that’s what all of the ones you buy from here are going to do. Luckily I had the old one and managed to bend a part enough that it now works properly. So before buying it see if u can fix the old one or buy a new one from a place you can trust like lmc truck or something. Just be aware that this thing may fail. Also it got me home, but it’s a waste of money on my part.

It works, but compared to two other v. regulators I swapped out on my 1965 Ford, this one puts out consistently 1 volt less that the others. Otherwise fits, works but its on my shelf only as a backup. Not sure why it's called Heavy Duty either.

I = no connectionA = alt batt outputS = alt plug ( red) and ignition source from fuseboxF = other alt wire on same plug as above, was black wire from ectecu to alt harness cut plug ( check engine light will be on for low battery forever after14$ fix vs 800+ for ecu if you can find one

The old regulator wasn't capping the charge rate but it was as simple as mounting this one and plugging it in. Charges at 13.5v as it should.Edit: After a few weeks I noticed that my RV's house battery wasn't fully charging up. I changed out this regulator for a new original manufacturer's regulator (which cost twice as much) and now it charges up at 14.2v instead of 13.5v and the battery gets fully charged. 13.5v is ok, but 14.2v is better.

Part arrived looking like it had been on a vehicle for several years, lots of oxidization and did not resemble the part in the description picture.
