I have the old version (18volt) deWalt tools) but I am on the 20 volt platform. My older tools still work very well but the old battery is very heavy, also is hard to find it. Enter this affordable adapter, It fits the old version tools to work with the Nano lithium battery. No extra expenses required to give your older tools a new life. Works great, the only (small negative ) is that it makes the tool taller by a couple of inches.Great buy.

I have an older 18 Volt cordless Dewalt drill. I have a lot of newer Dewalt drills, impact tools, saws etc. Most of them use the newer 20 volt batteries. Some time ago my old drill quit working. I have two of the old 18 volt batteries, and neither of them worked. I tried to charge them several times with no success. I didn't know if the problem was the batteries or the drill. I was about ready to throw the drill away. But when I saw this brand X product at a cheap price, I decided it was worth it to try it. I'm glad I did. It works great. I don't know how long it will last. But for now, I got an extra operating drill dirt cheap.

I was shopping for yet another Ni-Cad battery for my Dewalt 18v drill that I have had for years and love. I also have a newer Dewalt hammer drill that uses the much more efficient 20v lithium battery; having two drills for larger projects makes sense and I wasn't ready to ditch the older drill despite chronic battery problems with regular use. I found this adapter after seeing the Dewalt version and decided to take a chance. Fit was great with both drill and battery, and the drill works fine--new life. Very satisfied with this inexpensive update for a good tool.

Got a whole set of dewalt tools from my boss free because they use the old stick type battery. Seen the adapters on Amazon and ended up trying this cheaper one instead of the $40 ones. Tried it out and it works fine. Delivers power and holds battery securely. Maybe the more expensive ones do something better but at this price ($9) I’ll buy a few more so I don’t have to switch the adapter out with each tool.
