These things are great! Firm, but not too firm, and the way they unfold keeps you from sinking into the crease. I've owned a twin (for 2 years) and a queen (for 4 years). I've used them on top of a standard mattress, on top of a cot, on a tile floor, on a carpeted floor and on a wood floor. Floor use is the most comfortable, plus being able to fold up the mattress during the day makes living in tiny spaces workable.Don't expect to use it like a standard sofa or chair when folded. It'll work as an emergency solution, but it's too low. Still, it's a durable and relatively cheap way to get a good night's sleep!

This folding futon/couch/bed is a great product and value. Contrary to some reviewers, we (2 adults) found it very comfortable to sit on. I believe those who say the seat is too small only tried one "fold out" option when there are several. If you turn it around and unfold it you get different size seats and backs. One is perfect for kids - but turn it the other way and it is perfect for adults, albeit lower to the ground. But that is what we expect from a futon anyway.It is EXTREMELY comfortable and supportive for sleeping. We are going to use a thick mattress cover to soften it a little, but for the price and simplicity it is wonderful as a guest bed.

I wanted something for a very small, first floor den, that could be used for guests or if I need to camp out on the main floor. That recently happened when my second floor AC went out. On the first night, I discovered that it is much firmer than I like. I solved that problem by adding a gel foam mattress topper and the next 3 nights were quite comfortable. Easy to transition from a chair or love seat position to a mattress. Can easily be moved from room to room if needed. All of this is important since I am a senior person with back issues. The only negative is that petro-chemical smell which is noticeable right out of the box. That took a couple of weeks to dissipate, but I understand this is not uncommon with some foam or hybrid foam mattresses. All in all, I am very pleased. It solved a problem, is versatile, and doesn't look bad as a chair or love seat. My cat has given her seal of approval. I frequently find her napping on it.

At first I was bummed because my 2 futon mattresses were delivered and this chair was missing... Only a day later. it arrived. I opened it in the basement area where I have my dressing room set up and wanted a small bed for the hot summer nights. This is perfect. My dogs were way to excited and began to fight me for it and stepped on my face. Almost lost an eye... all is well. Dogs banned to the other side of the basement and Im happy.

The foam is sturdy and comfortable to sit on as a couch and great to lay down for an extra bed. Great quality and exactly what I wanted.

I dislike how the picture shown by the seller shows a much deeper bottom seat than the product actually has. Using the product folded as intended (picture included) makes for a very small uncomfortable seat even for my nine year old. I was going to return it, but my sonu insisted on keeping it. So we used the support of the wall to fold it in a way that made for a more comfortable seat as shown in my pictures. The product itself is hard enough to hold shape and soft enough to provide comfort.

Terrible and horrible in every way possible, how do I start? Okay well don't expect the material to be anything like the material on a couch, the material covering the sponges is literally thinner than a Hanes t-shirt. I mean it really feels like any tiny poke could pop this thing open! Within 3 days of use strings started protruding out of the seams and D&D futon Furnitures reply was for me to cut them off myself which can actually make the problem worse so then they said that they would send me another cover that I could put on myself. But what's the point? When you can't even sit on this thing, because sitting or sleeping on this thing is highly uncomfortable and almost impossible to do. Maybe for tiny children this would work but for an adult this just does not do the job. I had one female friend sit on it and automatically tell me how uncomfortable it was. I have bought many things from Amazon 99% of them coming of great quality but sadly this was in the 1% of horrible terrible items I have ever bought on Amazon and I haven't written many reviews but I wanted to write this one just to possibly save anyone else out there for making the same mistake I did in buying this product. I listened to the reviews because it seems to have decent reviews but either those people have very low expectations or they didn't plan to use but item as an everyday product. I on the other hand planed on using this as an everyday bed and that definitely was not possible with this item. So if you're looking for an item similar to this or a couch that turns into a bed I highly recommend you stay away from this one. This item is essentially chunks of sponge wrapped in a material thinner than a t-shirt. Horrible item in every single way imaginable.

What we wanted was a fold-out mattress that we could sleep on when we visit our daughter. It works superbly for this task. I have seen some reviews that it is not ideal as a sofa. I agree; the top section folds into a rather large bolster and the lower two sections form a somewhat shallow shelf rather than a deep sofa. If you want that, you should spend $500+ for a full futon frame and pad.However, even if you are willing to spend much more money, I advise that this sofa-bed is superior to the old-style fold-out sofa with a metal-spring bedframe. None of those are as comfortable as this set of pads.
