This is a sturdy, solid float. (not styrofoam) I gave 4 stars because there was a fairly sharp molding seam that i trimmed and sanded smooth. If this float were to be to big for future needs. I feel confident i could cut the float it, for instance in half, form the edges and have 2. Which just might happen if it's too much for my 48" drift sock i plan to use it on. Good buy

This is just a hard foam buoy. Not the nicest you can buy but good value for the money.

Update:I did a pool test and one will hold up 7 lbs maximum, close to my calculation of 7.5 lbs. if it was an 11 by 5 inch cylinder. So 14 lbs max with two on a 1/2" end capped pvc pipe. A 3/4" pvc sch-40 pipe didn't fit. They actually measure 10 5/8" long by 5.0" diameter and weigh 9.5 oz.
