I used this float to grout a couple of Mosaic Glass Shower blocks that were in an old shower that were coming loose. This float did a great job. If you have ever dealt with grouting this type of glass block I find it harder than typical tile but that's probably due to my lack of experience with this kind of material as I have only worked with it twice before. The handle is comfortable to grip and easy to clean due to the plastic type material. Overall, good value for a great float.

I’ve been tackling more stucco and masonry projects lately, and I’ve found that having the right tools makes all the difference. That’s why I’ve become such a fan of DEKOR products, and their Sponge Float is no exception. I recently used it on a stucco job where I had to blend new stucco with existing surfaces, and I couldn’t have been more impressed with its performance.A sponge float is a must-have tool for this kind of work, especially when you need a light touch to bring the aggregate to the surface and seamlessly blend the new and old. The DEKOR Sponge Float does this beautifully. The size of the float, 12" x 6", is perfect for the task—it covers enough area to work efficiently without being too unwieldy. Its ability to smooth out the surface and create a consistent texture was exactly what I needed to make the repair blend in with the surrounding stucco. One of the things that stood out to me most about this float was its durability. I’ve used plenty of sponge floats in my time, and some have been disappointing, especially when they fall apart after just a few uses. However, this float from DEKOR proved to be incredibly durable. From the first pass through to the final cleaning, it held up excellently. I was especially pleased to find that the sponge stayed intact and didn’t show any signs of damage or wear after the project was done. The float also performed exceptionally well in terms of water retention. It holds a generous amount of water, which is great for transferring water from a bucket to your mixing container. I did find that it can take a bit of time to squeeze all the water out, but that’s not a big issue—gravity helps with that process.Another feature worth mentioning is the special handle lock system, which provides a secure grip throughout the work. The handle design made it comfortable to hold, even during long stretches of use, which is something I can’t say for all float designs. The handle lock system is easy to attach and kept the sponge base tightly in place, which helped maintain control during delicate work. It really shows that DEKOR paid attention to the details when designing this tool.As someone who frequently works on DIY-level projects, I can confidently say that this Sponge Float is up to the task. Whether you’re dealing with stucco, concrete, or other masonry materials, this float will give you the precision and control you need for a professional finish. The quality and performance of this product are top-tier, and it’s something I’ll continue to reach for on future jobs. If you're looking for a reliable, durable sponge float that can handle tough tasks with ease, the DEKOR Sponge Float is an excellent choice.

I've found this sponge float to be particularly advantageous compared to silicone floats, especially when working with uneven or textured tiles. The sponge conforms to the contours of the tile much better than a rigid silicone float, ensuring thorough grout removal even in the crevices and valleys of the surface. Â This sponge float excels at the final cleaning stages of tiling projects. The size and shape are ideal for removing the haze that often remains after grouting. It's also gentle enough that it doesn't damage the tile surface. I found it particularly useful for cleaning up epoxy grout, which can be notoriously difficult to remove. While I primarily use it for DIY projects, I can see how its durability and efficiency would make it a good choice for professional tile setters as well. The DEKOR sponge float has definitely streamlined my grouting process.

I have only used this with grout, and thought I could use a makeshift PVC pipe over a bucket to wring out the water. However, my bad. You really need a roller bucket. The sponge is very porous, and so when you place it diagonally on a wall wet, I found the water readily flows through it to drip down the low corner. This happens even when it's dry enough not to leave drips when used on a horizontal surface. The tool is nicely constructed, with precision in the cut of the spong and its placement on the backer. However, as you can in the photos the sponge extends about a half inch on all sides beyond the flat board, as intended. Again for me without a proper roller to press against to wring out the water, that 1/2" edge has nothing to squeeze against, leaving a bit too much water that won't drip when I used it on a wall. It did make a fantastic finish on the floor tiles. It is my first DIY full grout job, so even though I've problems using it, that's not a reflection of the tool, so five stars.

I purchased this tool for some grout work in a shower and on a floor. It was a very comfortable handle that you slide into place. It was easy to maneuver and had great coverage. My only complaint is that I couldn't find a good, easy way to ring it out, so it held on to way too much water when rinsing it. It could be user error, but I didn't see anything in the pamphlet that was included giving any tips for removal to wring out. This over-saturation did cause the grout on the shower's vertical surface to slide out of place and thin out too much. I had a little more luck with the floors and using a gentle touch (but I followed up with a small cellulose sponge for the larger grout globs). This also made it more difficult to clean. That being said, it held up well. I found it functioned MUCH better for the multiple-pass cleanup of the grout haze after the grout dried. If that is what you are using it for then it works a dream and is worth the money for large projects that require multiple cleanup passes.

The sponge arrives soft and moist, the handle feels thick and rounded for comfort, and it works well to push the grout into the places it needs to go.The special locking handle does lock to the sponge base well, but it would probably just as usable with a few screws and a wooden handle. I must say though, I do like the plastic because the wood would probably swell and crack with long term usage + moisture.I'm just a DIYer and I had to push grout into my patio brick because whoever lived here before never completed the brick motar job. This sponge made it easy to get the job done and looks great.
