This adapter fit perfect with the Delta RP17453 pull down diverter tub spout. I only wished it came with the diverter, *not just the sweat on adapter which was included. My kids had to continue to use our shower while I waited first for the delivery of the diverter spout then the additional wait for this adapter. Easy install, just a set screw and some Teflon tape to the adapters threads. Slipped on clean 1/2" copper pipe, tighten set screw, screw diverter over adapter until flush with shower/tub wall. Done, no leaks and professional look and great water pressure diverted to shower head.

We decided that we wanted to upgrade our faucet head for our bathtub, and we didn't realize that when we bought our new Delta faucet that the connections were different from our old plumbing. Thank God this thing exists because it made it so much easier to just slide this on our old pipe and then thread this into the new head. I honestly don't understand why Delta doesn't include this in all of their faucet heads, or at least the option to buy a bundle.

This Delta adapter RP33794 is the bomb. If your tub spout has the 3/4" I.D. threads at the wall end of the spout and you have a 1/2" copper pipe sticking out 2" + this is the adapter for you. This model adapter with the set screw allows the adapter to be slid over a stub of smooth 1/2" copper pipe and located approximately 1/4" from the finished wall surface and tighten in place with the set screw. There are external and internal O rings that provide a tight fit and no possibility of water leaking back from the end of the pipe. Clean the copper stub pipe thoroughly and deburr the end of the stub due to the internal O ring. A little plumbers grease (I like to use Super Lube) on the stub and gently slide the adapter over the copper stub. DO NOT over tighten the set screw as you could inadvertently wear a hole in the 1/2" copper stub. Then apply a good coating plumbers grease and hand tighten the tub spout up to the finished tub wall. Finish with a small bead of 100% bathroom silicone and you are done. Delta makes good products - stay away from the universal Danco junk that they sell at Lowes and other places. You will pay more - but you get what you pay for.

We bought a Delta faucet set and took 2 years before installing it. Unfortunately, by then this part was missing. We were so happy that this was so easy to install and worked the first time we tried it. We did use plumber’s tape on it, inserted it on the pipe to the wall then put the faucet on. It worked with no drips or leaks.

Without this adapter I would have needed to do surgery in the shower wall to remove the copper pipe used by the old spout and then replace it with a pipe fitting. This adapter mates the spout to the copper pipe without modification. Saved me a ton of work.....

My tub spout came with a diverter which didn't have the screw to tighten it, so it needed to be 'sweat' on. I didn't have the equipment to do so and that diverter kept coming off (I had tried to secure it on the pipe use thread tape). Finally I found this and its awesome! Just need to slip on the pipe and tighten the screw!

I needed a new shower diverter valve, (or not, it might have been just the spout, but got it to be on the safe side). I prefer these over plastic threaded things..
