Who hasn't pulled their Christmas light strings out of the attic or basement and found a few in a ball or tangled? I spend half the start of my Christmas decorating project with the phrase "Got a little knot here!" and then hand the pile to my wife to undo. She only finds it amusing the first time though. This collectable definitly is a great piece for the Christmas Vacation set. You can set them right in front of the garage and it fits the movie scene almost perfect. The quality is pretty good, word of caution the lights are very light chain so be careful or you could easily break them. Everything else is the quality you would expect from Department 56.

I’ll admit it, right from the jump, miniature figures give me the creeps; however, I bought this as a gift for my fiancé, as she A) unhealthily and obsessively loves Christmas Vacation and B) has always dreamed of having a Christmas village to display in our home. With Department 56’s superior craftsmanship, quality, and overall awesomeness, I could not help but give her any early Christmas gift. Needless to say, she was thrilled and has now began meticulously calculating ways to collect all of the remaining pieces in Department 56’s National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation Collection, essentially thwarting my original plan of buying a piece each your for Christmas. In hindsight, I have opened Pandora’s Christmas box and my bank account is now doomed. Do the same. It is worth it. Buy Department 56.
