It's a decent tie with plenty of school spirit.Value wise, not exactly cheap at $34, I would personally prefer a few dollars less so that I could gift to a larger group.Tie is decently made, but not a designer tie by any means, you're paying for the branding and logo. And why not show off that school spirit? Fun way to do it. The logo is also subtle enough that it's executed tastefully and can be worn in a regular setting.

I was worried that this tie would be made out of that super shiny cheap-looking fabric, but it is not. It is made of a silky polyester fabric that has a sheen, but does not look cheap. Comes packaged in a box. Great way to show your school pride. The white is a bit of a very light dove gray, which is nice so it looks a little classier and not so brash.

I am the owner of many ties. But a wise man once said, "You can never have too many ties." I have taken that to heart.I am a BYU alum, and a big BYU fan. The price of this tie seemed a little high, for what I thought might be a novelty item. It turns out that it's a great tie. And I'm not just saying that because it's adorned with the BYU logo - it's truly a high-quality tie. Find a tie of similar quality, and it will cost as much as this tie, or more.I realize that BYU ties might have a fairly limited market. Fortunately, the manufacturer of this tie makes ties of similar quality for universities all over the world. Find one with your favorite university and buy it. Because you can't have too many ties!

This is a great gift to any cougar fan that will likely get a lot of use. It was 100 percent polyester so it is a little different and thicker than the silk ones. I think that means that certain knots would be harder to do with it. Despite that, it feels high quality and looks great. I recommend it.

The tie is well-constructed. It's a standard length and normal width, with generous backing that helps it keep a nice shape and makes it easy to fashion a good knot. It has two loops on the back that make it easy to hold the back piece in place (something I appreciate as I'm taller and a single label loop is often insufficient for me).The material itself is a standard polyester. The "Y" logo sits nicely off-center about 3 inches from the bottom of the tie. I normally wear a suit jacket when wearing a tie, which obscures the logo, but it's a good looking tie either way and pulling off the jacket for the "reveal" might be a nice trick.
