I love ancient Egyptian stuff this is a very beautiful piece. Put it by my chess table. Got a oversized black queen chess piece to go on it ordered. I order a lot from Design Toscano. They make some beautiful stuff. Every thing I got from them well worth the money.

I've purchased several items from toscano this being the biggest so far....it is a gift for my mother and this piece is truly amazing and breath taking....the detail is amazing and it seems larger than what i had thought which i am happy about...it is a strong material and has a decent amount of weight to it so it doesn't feel as if it will tip. it was shipped very secure as are all packages from toscano.. i couldnt be happier with this piece as it will add so much to my mothers egyptian collection. i also purchased the eye of horus vase thats in the picture as well and it is also an amazing piece. i hope this is of some help in anyone interested in this...i highly reccomend this and toscano to anyone...great stuff from a great company..i will add some photos too since theres just the one on here

I took my chances on this item because it looks amazing in the photo and would go great with my remodeled master bedroom, which will be completely ancient Egyptian themed. Like the other low rating comment-er posted, the paint job on this isn't so great. For the price, I'd expect better quality. But I saw a twenty dollar price drop for a single one and decided to try it out.It does seem sturdy, however, the base of the pedestal wasn't even perfectly round and had obviously been damaged in the pre-painting phase because there's a dent on it (and not a tiny one, either). Though the glaze on this hides it well, near this area the paint already cracked and is crumbling off- in both the black, shiny portion, and the gold.From afar, it does look amazing and is still a really awesome piece, but I wanted to just place my two cents here just for those who are interested in buying, just be aware the quality isn't of the highest caliber, but again, it does look pretty and I won't be returning it. However, if I were to see this item at the store, I'd think again before purchasing.

I was so disappointed when I took this mess out of the box which I ordered from Design Toscano. It actually looked like a 4 year-old had painted this thing....very sloppy. It had a glaze which was very thick in areas and looked as if it was thrown on with a toothbrush. Some areas had no glaze at all. Plus, the black paint on the top of the Pedestal scratches right off with your nail and some some areas, again, had no paint at all...... large white spots. I noticed when my house got a bit humid the glaze on the Pedestal felt wet and sticky....I'm not sure why. Anyway, I've purchased many items from Toscano in the past and some were good and others bad. You take your chances, I guess. Please do not purchase this Pedestal....you will be very sorry if you do.
