Features:
SX460 is a half-wave phase-controlled thyristor type automatic voltage (AVR) and froms part of the excitation system for a bruch-less generator.
In addition to regulating the generator voltage, the AVR circuitry includes under-speed and sensing loss protection features.
Excitation power is derived directly from the generator terminals.
Postive voltage build up from residual leves is ensured by the use of efficient semiconductors in the power circuitry of the AVR.

Had issue that was not regulators fault. Basket case machine at my shop with a blown up rectifier and regulator. I found this cheap version of the regulator on Amazon vs 10x price from Cummins. Pay close attention to the fact this is single phase sensing only. The older version I pulled off was 3 phase sensing and used terminal 6 as 3rd leg. This will fail the regulator if attempted. Single phase terminals 7 and 8 work well. At the price of this regulator, didn't feel bad about experimenting and failing a couple.

This AVR appears to be a decent product. It requires some research in order to make it function properly on you specific generator set. The instructions do state that the SX460. Requires 15 ohms minimum, but fails to indicate exactly where this value is used. On line research will fill in the details. I have more parts on order that are necessary to make this unit work on my old Onan JB set. Early reports indicate that these SX460 AVRs are decent replacements for the unavailable Onan AVR boards. Time will tell how well this unit holds up.
